TO; NEW CIVILIZATION NETWORK and NEW CIV MODEL ONE
Hello everyone! This is the weekly "build" of April 11, 1995. A system "build"
is a bringing together of all the parts of a system in fully operating form to
see how it all works together as an integrated/interfacing whole. After the
"build" all persons involved in the design of the new civ model one system can
take the results and attempt to improve their portion of the system so it will
interact better with the whole.
OVERALL OPERATION: New Civ Model One continues to operate well, especially now
that InsureCo Division is moving forward with its plans to provide "extended
family" self help "insurance" to all members of Model One and the New Civ
Network. Work has begun on designing the way that human resource data will be
gathered and classified, and how we will respond to a request for help from a
member. Use will be made of the e mail team and the New Civ Network to post
notices for help and for urgently needed information. This work will
necessarioly involve the expertise and services of all other Divisions...
FoodCo, HealthCo, LearnCo, SpaceCo, RetireCo, BankCo and ThinkCo.
INTERFACE WITH THE NEW CIVILIZATION NETWORK (NCN): this has been our most
successful outreach effort. We have obtained several new members from our
contacts with Flemming Funch's NCN, and have been interfacing daily with NCN
members and Teams. The outreach has been far flung, in that one contact has
been made in Kiev, Ukraine, and several other distant contacts are planned. The
Teamwork Team of NCN has been providing many new ideas on how we might improve
our organization and focus.
PERSONCO... a hybrid Division: A New Division of Model One is PersonCo, headed
up by long time New Civer Bob Gebelein. PersonCo was born in the E Mail Team of
Model One, and also in the NCN. Thus, PersonCo is the first Team that straddles
Model One and NCN. It also may fit in or around LearnCo. Time will tell. The
interfacing activity of PersonCo so far indicates a lot of interest in the
development of the New Civilization person... the key goal of PersonCo.
ARTCO...a similar development: Tracey Kobett, who we met via NCN, is the force
behind this still emerging Team, which is focused on computer and other art and
music as communication. This is an interesting interface with the expressions
of interest for an ArtCo that were seen in Model One during the last year or so.
SPECIFIC INTERFACE CONTACT VOLUME between NCN and Model One has been averaging
around six e mail messages in and three out daily. Also a couple of faxes and
phone calls and one in person meeting (with another planned for lunch April 21)
have taken place. This is the most active interface in the system at this time
and ever in the past. There is much definition taking place to establish the
precise nature of the long term interace between NCN and Model One, but at this
point it seems clear that this is a very positive and productive development for
Model One. Thanks to NCN, Model One now has a posting in a page in the World
Wide Web of the Internet, and is able to broadcast postings to the more than 60
members of NCN world wide.
