Hello to all in Model One of New Civilization and the NCN!
THIS IS THE SYSTEM "BUILD" FOR APRIL 18, 1995
Establishing Communications Lines
The Model One system has been active in yet another sense, with the work of
making communication links by means of the Internet. An electronic List is
being set up so one can send a message to the entire E Mail Team with the use of
one address. The same is being done by the New Civilization Network (NCN), and
the two will be included in each other's list. NCN may have sublists soon, and
eventually so might Model One.
This activity was not planned, but grew out of the expertise and interests of
some of the NCN members, which will be explained when the Model One List is
announced. Thus, this systemic functioning of Model One was self defining, but
based on principles earlier established: a high degree of interaction was
desired.
The Interfacing of the SpaceCo Mynda Site near Ojai, California USA
It has taken several years for the Mynda site to come into focus and interact
with the rest of the Model One System. The site has been the focus in recent
months of two major design activities:
1, Designing the low cost, low impact model house (two bedroom, one bath) that
will give minimum compliance with building codes while being buildable by
volunteer labor (when possible) and suitable for the sites available. Such a
house is planned for construction at Mynda. Two grant proposals are now in
progress to obtain funds for the materials for the foundation and floor
platform.
2. Continuing the very modest gardening experiiments (low till, no water) on
Mynda has led to a grant proposal in process that will advocate that a new style
of agriculture will be demonstrated at the site, that will show that food can be
grown on wilderness land without any significant change in the land, the flora
and the fauna. This could signal a new type of agriculture that can be done on
very cheap remote land with little labor.
The interaction of these two projects with the FoodCo and HealthCo and SpaceCo
activities has been slow but steady, and the results are beginning to show in
other areas of Model One as well. Hooking the work into the communication lines
noted above will enrich the Model and make it available to more persons. Thus,
food and shelter needs are being addressed in a systemic way
ThninkCo.
