Please note that this is in itself a structure, a map imposed upon the
territory of building a new civilization, imposed from a place where it is
carved in stone (a published book) and cannot be made to yield with the
team members. I don't think I would have been successful myself in designing
a new civilization if I had had rules like this imposed on me from "above."

First of all, the sensitive people will make an effort to be a "team player,"
and the manipulators will take advantage of it to make everybody conform to
them. There are reasons for "defenses." If I am defending against myself,
there is reason to question my defenses. But if I am defending against
someone else, there is great and good reason to have defenses.
