HELLO EVERYONE - Merry Christmas -
To Bosnia with Love! came to me in a flash while I was out running on
Sunday Dec. 1. This project has tremendous momentum and magic and I am
convinced it is being guided to spread across the United States and to
Europe to support the Peace Process in Bosnia.
I am sending this to you to see if you could get this to key people that
you would know that would take it on. We also are trying to get it started
in England and France. Would you please get back to me and let me know
whether you can see a way to forward it. Hope you are have a wonderful

"To Bosnia with Love!" was initiated on the first of December in Hawaii by
a core team of Teddy Bears and Friends. Our vision is to unite Americans,
and people through out the World, in expressing our LOVE, HOPE & FAITH in
PEACE for the people and children of Bosnia.
Let's all remember: we are all Children at heart and share dreams of LOVE
and HARMONY! The children we speak of have no boundaries.

Teddy Bears and their Friends
are coming together for
The Children of Bosnia & Peace on Earth!
Updated Status of this Project on December 22,1995
How you and your Community can Participate: An initial core team formed to
align on the vision of "To Bosnia with Love!" on December 1, 1995 in
Hawaii. We are now working on establishing a collection structure in Hawaii
that can be a model for the rest of the country. We expect to be set up
with a central community drop off address during the week of Dec. 24-30. We
have begun the process of contacting Churches and organizations on Oahu and
the Neighbor Islands to see if they would like to participate. As of
Sunday, December 17,1995 we began collecting Teddy Bears and Friends from
two churches and we have started collecting on Maui and Kauai. We have
also have made contact with folks who are taking "To Bosnia with Love!" on
in New Jersey, Arizona and Colorado.

Instructions for Community Organizations
that become Collection Centers: We are asking Churches and organizations
in communities throughout America to join "To Bosnia with Love!" by
becoming a collection center. We are asking that you collect Teddy Bears
and new, or slightly new, soft stuffed animals in good and clean condition.
We ask that a Green Ribbon be tied to the Teddy Bears and Friends
symbolizing Peace. A card may be attached to the Ribbon with your message
of hope keeping in mind that it will be received by children with many
different ethnic and religious backgrounds. We are asking each group to
then put as many Teddy Bears and Friends as can fit comfortably into large,
clear plastic Yard Bags. We ask that you double up the bags so that the
stuffed animals are well protected and will survive in good condition
through the shipping and handling they will endure to get to Bosnia. We ask
that you write TO BOSNIA WITH LOVE! in large letters on the yard bags and
that you also count and put a number indicating how many Teddy Bears and
Friends are in each bag. This will greatly assist with distribution
logistics in Bosnia.Then we ask that the churches and organizations deliver
their Teddy Bears and Friends to a central drop off address for your
community when it is determined.

the Country)
Logistics and Transportation from your Community to Bosnia: Getting the
Teddy Bears from your community to Bosnia to be distributed to the Children
is the next step. We anticipate that a number of options will develop that
might be different for each community. We will share with you what we are
doing as an example of how to complete the project. There is no substitute
for creativity in this project so each community may discover other
options. One of the primary tracts that we are pursuing is the Military and
our Peace Keepers. We have made contacts with the Military in Hawaii and
also at McGuire Air Force Base in New Jersey which is one of the deployment
bases for the Peace Keepers. We are attempting to gain support in
logistics, transportation and distribution in Bosnia. These efforts are
making progress on a number of tracks and we anticipate a response between
Dec. 26th -Dec. 29.
Asking the White House and the Military to Assist: We have also sent
progress reports to President Clinton as this project has developed along
with a request for support from the White House. As of this draft we are
expecting a response by Dec. 26th which we hope to be positive. We are
still working on this because if the military will take "To Bosnia with
Love!" on we could get a very large response from around the country in a
very short period of time. The military has the logistics capacity to
coordinate and follow through.
Asking non profit relief groups, private organizations and the Airlines to
Assist: We are also in the process of contacting the airlines as well as
private and non-profit organizations that are already sending relief
supplies to Bosnia. We are looking for air transportation and a receiving
distribution organization in Bosnia if the Peace Keepers will not be able
to take on distribution to all the Children.
Time Line - Collection by January 15,1996 and Distribution by February 1,
1995: Our goal is to collect the Teddy Bear and Friends in Hawaii by the
middle of January and then send them to Bosnia in the beginning of the New
Year. We hope that our efforts can be replicated in communities through out
the country so that "To Bosnia With Love" becomes a Nation wide project.
There is Love and Magic in To Bosnia with Love!: We have already made many
exciting discoveries and connections. Foremost among these is "The Bears
for Bosnia" project initiated by Cheryl Munn, a paramedic in Portland,
Maine, totally independent of our group. They have already collected 5,000
Teddy Bears and "slightly loved" stuffed animals. They have worked out the
logistics of transportation. These Teddy Bears, bringing love and hope, are
bound for a number of hospitals that are filled with children who were
victims of the fighting.

You can Assist: As of this bulletin we can use your assistance. If you
have contacts with Churches in Hawaii please let us know. If you are in
another part of the country and are interested in starting your own
collection of Teddy Bears and Friends let us know that you are doing it. We
will share all information on logistics concerning the project as it
develops. If you have contacts with relief organizations already doing work
in Bosnia let us know. If you know of organizations that can provide
transportation let us know. Finally, if you feel inspired to contact the
White House to encourage their support concerning this project please do
and let us know.
