                        NCN TRAVELER'S AID SOCIETY

For those who didn't notice earlier, Michael Johnson is organizing a travel
network amongst us. That is, if you would be willing to put an NCN member
up for a couple of days, when they are visiting your area, or you would
like to visit people in other areas, put your name on the list. Write to
Michael Johnson <mjohnson@deltabtg.com>. You always have the option of
saying yes or no on an individual basis, of course. Also Michael is
collecting information to make travel easier, discount plans, phone calling
cards, etc. So, if you know anything that would make it easier or cheaper
for us to travel around, drop him a note. I know for myself that it has
been very enjoyable with those of you I've met when you were traveling by.
It creates a closer connection to meet people in person.

                         WEEKLY ON-LINE MEDITATION

Noh-Ra Amrani <Vibrani@worldnet.att.net> is leading a weekly meditation
circle on-line. It is every Sunday at 12 noon, U.S. Pacific Standard time.
You can check the web page at http://www.worldtrans.org/ncn/med/ and we can
interact with each other during the meditation in the NCN chat room at
http://www.newciv.org/cgi-bin/webchat.pl It has been very enjoyable the
first couple of times, and the more of us are focusing on it at the same
time, the better it is, I think.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                             NEWCIV.ORG CD-ROM

Last year Max Sandor <max@newciv.org> produced a CD-ROM with almost all of
the contents of the newciv.org server. There are loads of good information
on it. This is a way of browsing through it without having to be on-line
all the time. All you need is a web browser and the CD. It works on Mac and
on most Windows 95 systems. If you pay Max for the shipping ($3 in the
U.S., $5 international) he can send it to you. Any additional donation for
the work and the costs of producing it would be welcome too. Contact Max
<max@newciv.org> for this.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                             NCN GROUP CHANNEL

As you probably noticed, Trudy Schuett <dsrtlite@primenet.com> now puts out
a monthly update on activities of different groups. So, if there is a group
project or regular group activity that you are part of, or are leading,
drop her a note and she can report on it. I think it is very worthwhile to
hear about how different people are doing in their activities, so any kinds
of reports would be welcome, particularly if they give us some insight in
the experiences you are making, failures as well as successes.

From: Tom Roark <roark@fishnet.com>:

(I would like to) let people know about the Minnesota
Renewable Energy Society's Solar Boat Regatta/Junior Solar Sprint. On
May 31, kids who have built solar-powered boats and solar powered model
cars will be tooling around the west side of Lake Phelan (or the parking
lot, in the case of the cars) in St. Paul, Minnesota. There will be some
other solar hoopla: solar cookers, educational booths, and surprises
(last year, the University of Minnesota's SunRayce solar car made an
appearance). If you can't make it, see us in the June-July "Home Power"
magazine.
