Happy birthday NCN! March 13th is the 3 year birthday of the New
Civilization Network. It started with an informal message I posted on the
Whole Systems mailing list, which got a lot of positive feedback, and it
seems we've turned into quite a movement since then.

There's a traditional tale in many cultures about the frog that
grew up in a well. That well was his world, the only one he
knew; one day it rained so hard that the water level rose to the
rim and the frog jumped out to the rim of the well, surveyed the
meadow beyond and decided to explore; so he jumped out and
across the meadow and arrived at a pond; he looked at the pond
and decided to go beyond, to a river, a lake, a sea... and then
