This is the latest version of the structural basis of the high level design for a general innovation project. Note: I'll keep updating the diagram and adding comments until this design reaches a steady state...

The white lines are the connections between the nodes in the first HLD diagram ([link]), which has been extended to integrate four rather than two forces. You can see each triangle with its base on a side of the image and its ...apex near the centre (each triangle has a separate apex, which are all integrated at the centre - the "living centre").
The symmetry suggests a four-fold foundation related to the AQAL quadrants. I.e. we have cognition (inner process) which is individual (mind) or collective (society). We also have phenomena (outer form) which is individual (knowledge) or collective (technology).
Thus we have to work on our own minds as well as on the social, technological and knowledge aspects. These must all be brought in from the four corners, integrated and focused through the centre, as a unified projection of collective will.
I also noticed that a four-fold Kabbalistic Tree of Life emerges quite spontaneously, by rotating the symmetry 45 degrees.
The white lines draw 12 of the 22 paths of the tree of life. The black lines are the other 10 paths. You can see the tree of life with its base (Malkuth) in each corner and its top (Kether) at the center.
BTW here's an image ([link]) of a regular tree of life with some simple labels to give some hint of the meanings of the structures (just in case you're not familiar with it already).
It is interesting that the Tree of Life spontaneously emerges! It is a very powerful symbol. It is a glyph, an ancient conceptual network, which describes the emanation of existence from the Source through to concrete manifestation. It also describes the path of return. It can also be applied to any context in a fractal (multi-level self-similar) manner. Hence I am curious what it will tell us about the process of innovation!
Regarding the overall role of the Tree of Life, the book of Genesis describes what happens after man eats from the tree of knowledge of good and evil...
“And the Lord God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil; and now lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.” (Genesis:3:16-24)
