Hi Everyone,
I was asked about Reiki and therefore wrote for you an overview. I hope this answers your questions...
Reiki
Reiki is the Japanese word for Universal (Rei) Energy (ki). It is the essence of all life, pure and simple. It pervades everything and has the capacity/potential to balance, harmonize, raise vibration, open channels a.k.a. chakras and meridians, get to the cause of illness/disease and therefore “cure” anything.
We are all born with this energy and the energy is with us always, but we are not aware of how to align with it and therefore just need a reminder. That is what the "attunement/initiation" process is all about. The attunement is a ritual that opens up the chakras to the Reiki Symbols. The Universal Energy can then consciously flow through you for balancing, harmonizing, clearing and “healing”.
Employing Reiki signifies three very important points:
1. The use of intention. Reiki cannot be forced, pushed or controlled…it flows purely on intention. All one needs to do is intend the flow of The Reiki Energy for a specific task. When one is attuned to Reiki Level 1, that is all that is needed. Just quiet one’s mind and intend the energy to flow! There are specific hand positions that may be used, but as one becomes more adept at using this remarkable energy, theses are not mandatory. In fact, there is NO right or wrong…it is just a matter of setting intention.
2. Taking responsibility for one’s own progress. Even if an individual were to go for a Reiki Session with a practitioner, they are responsible for the progress of the session, NOT the practitioner. It is not always enough to allow the energy to flow. Awareness of the process and what is happening within the physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual bodies may be necessary. This is not to say that one must see or know all the levels of clearing or issues that emerge, but one must be ready to view and take responsibility for the cause of the discomfort or illness. Therefore, this brings us to the next point…
3. Reiki gets to the CAUSE of any illness, issue, discomfort or symptom. It is not a band aid. Finding the cause of any experience is absolutely necessary. Covering up symptoms just will not do. Getting to the cause can sometimes lead to what is known as a “healing crises”, where emotions and/or issues come to the surface to be released. Sometimes this proves to be uncomfortable, but the path to total healing is not always smooth. This can be compared to surgery. (although not the best analogy) In surgery, the problem is removed and the patient is cured (well somewhat) but until the person recovers from the surgery, this can be quite uncomfortable. Once the “recovery” period is over, the illness is gone and the patient feels good. Getting to the cause takes responsibility and perseverance, but the rewards are great. One is truly free of the issues etc that led to the malfunction.
4. A smaller point, I want to mention, is the use of thought-forms. Thought-forms have power and energy, this is a known fact. Reiki has 4 symbols/thought-forms, each with a specific purpose… 1)The Empowerment Symbol, which empowers the flow of energy and therefore, makes it stronger, 2) The Distance Symbol, which bridges time and distance, making it possible to send the energy anywhere and at anytime, no matter what the distance, 3) The Emotional/Mental Symbol, which bridges the emotional and mental bodies so that emotions can be crystallized, seen clearly and overcome and 3) The Attunement Symbol, which is used in the Reiki Initiation. Symbols are not used until one learns level 2.
Personally I have seen Reiki do many things from clearing up a sprained wrist, taking away migraine headaches, dissolving kidney stones and curing breast cancer. All but the sprained wrist took time, patience, seriousness and perseverance. Just for your reference, the sprained wrist took about 1 hour, the migraine headache about one hour, but to be rid of the headaches for good, took years, the kidney stones took 3 days of intensive sessions and the breast cancer took months of continued sessions and focus. This is not to say that all these illnesses could not have been dealt with more quickly, that is up to the individual. The point being made here is that this is a serious focus that requires one’s devotion to finding the cause.
Being attuned to Reiki and having it for your lifetime, I believe, is best and worthwhile. Once you are attuned, it is with you forever and cannot be lost, even if it is not used. This is not to say that going to a practitioner for sessions is not advised. Both are complete avenues for the use of Reiki. Sometimes when dealing with a chronic or serious condition, both in cooperation are recommended.
Included here will also be a link to a wonderful website that has plenty of information in an easy to read format. The symbols are also listed there for you to see. These symbols are for everyone, but unless you understand their importance, meaning and are attuned or aligned with them, they may not work at full potency for you.
My only objective here is to give you an overview of Reiki. I have practiced it for almost 10 years now and it truly changed my life as a tool for spiritual growth. Please always feel free to email me with questions or comments at: spellscaster9@yahoo.com . I would also gladly meet you online or via phone call to discuss Reiki and/or send you the energy. I have attuned people long distance also via the phone or the net.
I wish you all well on your journey.
Love Sandi

I have always been one to seek adventure. From an early age I had spiritual experiences. I read a lot of books. I worked out and ran a lot. So I was fit, still am. Religions interested me because of the then mysteries of God and Spirit. It was philosophies that fascinated me to see what is humanly possible. I loved a lot of women. I have traveled the world and speak many languages. I had/have an ability to predict. I gambled a lot to prove that. Many of my adventures have started after I read a book. So it was that after I read: Scientology, Fundamentals of Thought, I wanted to talk about it and I wanted to read another book by L Ron Hubbard. More >

I find it interesting how many of the modern religious and spiritual holidays and rituals were taken from the early Pagan traditions.
I have found the resurrection or ascension energy of Easter holiday to always be a profoundly powerful time, and so I celebrate it because my being resonates with the celebration of new life and the opportunities to transform anything that limits that life from expressing more fully and more joyously! Vladimir: Did you ever read the Bible?
Estragon: The Bible... (He reflects.) I must have taken a look at it.
Vladimir: Do you remember the Gospels?
Estragon: I remember the maps of the Holy Land. Coloured they were. Very pretty. The Dead Sea was pale blue. The very look of it made me thirsty. That's where we'll go, I used to say, that's where we'll go for our honeymoon. We'll swim. We'll be happy.

Do you believe that if you do something wrong God will punish you, and that if you're good He will reward you? Do you think if your nation easily takes over an oil-rich country somewhere, it's proof God is on your side? If I envision myself healed and if others gather themselves together to pray for me to be whole and happy, will it happen? I've always wondered about these kinds of things, and lately I've had occasion to try to pull together some conclusions.
I got an email the other day from an Internet friend in Houston. She had forwarded my writing "A Date With Surgery" to a cancer survivor friend of hers. He had written back that my article was an attempt to "justify" my position, and that in his opinion I failed. He said, "Your friend would have to be taught and accept the underlying emotion that is causing his dis-ease. To do that he will have to be receptive. Reading his 'excuses' tells me he has delegated his health to a white jacket and chooses not to accept responsibility for his own health." He said he'd never "go near a doctor with a knife in his hand." This man claims healing is not medical but spiritual, and that is how he accomplished his own. More >

I wrote this for a local Glastonbury e-forum tonight.
Good evening ~ albeit morning~
Fact: Somewhere around 90% ? of all violent crimes are committed by men.
I've heard it from the authorities on violence, etc... for many years.
Here's some links I have found:
Some UK stats
Crimes by Men
National Abuse Facts
Interesting bit on women in Arizona prisions
I don't blame men, but I do blame patriarchy, which subconsciously, consciously and insidiously breeds a male-dominated regime/ matrix/ whirld... that subjugates women and what we call 'feminine' values. I think it subjugates what is our True Nature.
There is much evidence that what we call feminine qualities -- nurturing, Life-giving attributes -- were once donned by males in matri-focal, egalitarian societies. No surfs or wars. Mesopotamia and Old Europe, etc.
I do think that in today's living western mythos, that until we consciously de-tox from our inner patriarchy, whatever the gender, that we are acting in the false prism of dominating hierarchies, where it's about power over or under another individual or institution or group or race or class. Either we are participating in the status-quo or we are about standing for change.
And usually, we all fall in between, and hopelessly towards the former not the latter.
Often we supplant our patriarchy and participation in the 'cult of authority' from the collective psyche of our past, Piscean internal institution, to the seeming 'new paradigm' world or world view we try to inhabit... without even realizing it. I feel that is evident in the microcosm of Glastonbury and any alternative-related world. But at least we ARE trying.
The goal should be, are we trying to shine the light of illumination upon where our individual and collective psyche's are still split --- or are we still trying to look smarter, bigger, more evolved, than our brother/ sister?

I was thinking about a pretty Deep Philosophical Conundrum last night ----- that perhaps this new age idea and politically correct Californian psychology that implied each individual is choosing something, say a life pattern, or drama... like me with the many levels of feeling like a victim, estranged, misunderstood, scapegoat... this base level shadow side of a multi-faceted 'story'.... well, the actual idea of 'changing my mind' ... on a soul level... is another way of shaming? That 'Oh boy,, I can't get this life lesson right', feeling is still feeling alone, isn't it? I keep going back to this place of desperation and despair from the patterns that spiral into my own lunacy..... The only way to shift patterns, perhaps, is not to even think about it. To let life's dramas and dance's play out... until we naturally and organically tire of them or develop new approaches, without a forced idea of 'I have to let this go, or I am mis-creating my life'...... To understand the levels that lead to unconscious patterning is inherent in the western psyche... that is shining the light of understanding upon them.... but it's the very 'split' western mind that thinks 'i have to get this right' .... to accept responsibility as a separate being making wholly incomplete decisions, is often actually part of the western dis-ease itself. We are not separate. We have lost true commune-ity. With ourselves and with the cosmos... we are TOO individuated. And so the western psychological and metaphysical idea that it's all down to our individual SELF, that we need to be the one to change it, that we are THE director, producer and actor in our own 'story'... well, that idea is again not taking account for the energetic dance, the wave vs. particle theory of life. Like they say that String Theory is philosophy and not really science, because at this point, they will never know if the strings are the surfaces of 'something' coming in from another dimension. The influences on a galactic and universal level are staggering. Each "I" is a centre, but the whole fucking whirling whilrds are full of centres. Are we insane and egotistical enough to think WE have THE power, seperate from what else is happening? No, the true 'master' is one who is in UNISON with all the other events that are happening AT ONCE. And time the greatest trickster is telling us that this story can be retold. Well, yes. And, no. I guess that's what I am saying. The dance is beyond the human linear ideas. Until we learn to think, feel, experience with all the dimensions and worlds, the idea of creating a new reality pragmatically, is still a selfish western notion.
(I read something last year about this book Return of the Dark/Light Mother or New Age Armageddon? Towards a Feminist Vision of the Future by Monica Sjoo.. and how she explores these issues of individuality vs. community as being new age, western, patriarchal denial.... have to say, I agree!) "I will carry my gods within me, swallow my divinity whole.
The responsibily that clarity unveils...as I become the face of my soul."
Psychic Pollution
Psychic pollution spread by the popular media in the form of newspapers, television and advertising is toxic and detrimental to our divinity. We are sensitive instruments and our vibrationary level/frequency is affected by our observations.
Like a tuning fork we tend to vibrationally attune to the object/subject of our observations.
"News" is "some news", everyday at every minute everything that you could possibly think of then more is happening somewhere on this planet of ours. The news that is reported is little bits of usually negative stuff that we are publically told is newsworthy.
We then observe, reinforce and strengthen by our observation and attention whatever the "news" happens to be. We are not usually told of all of the wonderful things that are happening every single second all over this planet too. It is our decision where our attention is focused. It makes a difference where our attention is focused, it makes a difference how we "vibrate".
We hold the key to changing and helping to birth a new consciousness…the control panel lies within.
Eliminate or reduce your exposure to TV, to the "News" to newspapers, to advertising, take a few steps outside of "the consensus reality" and then look again. When you are within it you are attuned to it. Step outside and realise a new world lies within each of us but we must detach from the "programming" as that keeps us only able to access certain levels of consciousness.
Mass reality has a ceiling…get above that and there is a vastly different view.

From the time I was a baby, I've had to survive a life-threatening illness, a near drowing, nearly bleeding to death (twice), a snow blizzard, overcome brain damage, outlive a broken heart, find my way past a doctor's death sentence, endure the agony of being eaten alive, make my way through a hell hole, swim a sewer, sidestep death threats, and overcome a poisoning...
I've danced through an obstacle course that...
when I look back on it...
I see as proof that I can do anything...
I have turned stumbling blocks to stepping stones...
Whatever the barrier, I get through it...
or over it...
or under it...
or around it...
whatever it takes.
The important thing to me is Heaven on Earth...
the magic and the mystery...
Everything I've lived through has prepared me for this momentous truth.
I have a vision of what to do, and I'm doing it.
And life is beautiful.

I saw this title on the Events Calendar:
"Meeting the Planetary Challenge"
and I thought, "What *is* the Planetary Challenge?"
We all know about Global Warming, we know our air is polluted, our water poisoned...
some of us know the global drinking water supply has dwindled about 40% in the past 40 years, and that the world's ocean economy has plummeted over 50% over the past 40 years...
and then there's the Nuclear waste, and toxic waste, and depleted uranium, pesticides... and bovine spongiform
all getting into our water supply and our foods...
but what *really* is the Planetary Challenge?
What?
Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy?
In our water?
Oh... they didn't tell you that?
... Ya see, after cows are slaughtered, there's a clean-up... with a waterhose, so all that cow fat and bones and stuff goes down the drain... into our rivers and oceans...
Let's see where was I?
Millions of different perspectives on this question of "Meeting the Planetary Challenge"... and perhaps thousands of different solutions to be offered...
So I'll offer my perspective on the problem and my solution:
The Planetary Challenge, as I see it, is to look at the problem from the Planet's perspective... and then to offer a solution based on the Planet's perspective.
I'm one from the growing crowd of believers in the unrefutable evidence that our Planet Earth is a sentient being, an intelligent life form.
I'll *prove* this very simply.
I know many people believe the Earth is just a dumb rock orbiting the sun.
But the Earth is not lifeless, the Earth is not stupid, the Earth is not without intelligence, and I will prove it.
Those who stand in judgment and proclaim the Earth to be stupid, I *challenge* you to *try* for 10 minutes...
*try* ...
living without the Earth's air...
*try* ...
a few days without the Earth's water or food...
*try*
a few weeks without any of the Earth's rocks...
without minerals...
without iron, magnesium, and other essential minerals...
then come back and tell me just how *stupid* the Earth is...
tell me the Earth hasn't a clue about *life*.
The truth is: We can't live without the Earth.
We haven't figured out yet how to do that.
But the Earth manages to provide us with what we need...
so we can live.
Because of this, we are not *separate* from the Earth.
I see myself as being ONE with the Earth.
And because of this...
I have insights into the perspective that Earth has on us.
I see the Planetary Challenge from Earth's perspective.
And I'll tell you what that is:
Earth demonstrates to us the way of life.
There are many errors in our cultural beliefs.
The scientific theories, and scientific laws of the mainstream culture have totally missed the mark.
If the experts had the answers, would we be in such a mess?
The economic theories are such hogwash... created by the morally and spiritually corrupt for the benefit of the morally and spiritually bankrupt.
The economic theories do not work for the people or for the planet.
Don't believe in the teachings of the mainstream culture. They are resulting in a sewer, a self-destructing society.
Allow Earth to teach what is true, and what does she demonstrate:
She freely gives.
Her very healthy economy is based on giving.
She demonstrates a Gift Economy...
of Freely Giving...
with a replenishment and healing...
rejuvenation and nurturance...
year after year after year.
Earth teaches many things but it is most rewarding to learn directly from her...
Begin by acknowledging the truth, appreciating all that you are, all that the Earth is, all that the universe is, and then ask deep within your soul, and out to the farthest star to *know* the truth.
And you will know.
"Love with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind and all your strength... Love and you will know."

31 Dec 2003 @ 14:08, by sharie. Spirituality
What most people think of as *the real world out there* is really an illusion... a delusion created by the criminally insane... created by the billionaire's grubbing for more, their paid *economists* telling us that building a toxic factory will save our children's future... on and on the delusion and sickness goes...
Once we look beyond the mental illness of those who propose to lead the way, beyond the *reality* manifested by beliefs about wealth, superiority, economics, nature, humanity...
beyond what we're taught about *science* and the world we live in...
Once we look beyond the lies, and insist upon the truth,
we see who we are and what we're capable of, we see the truth of our magnificent Mother Earth and what she's capable of, we see *Life* ... the *spirit of Life* as the only reality... Everything else is an illusion that fades with time.
Only the Spirit of Life is real.
The Spirit of Life is Light, Love, Truth, Peace, Bliss, Eternity...
Everything else is just a temporary passing.
When we know ourselves as the Spirit of Life manifesting our bodies, our thoughts, our experiences, we have such a liberation of all we are.
Reject the *illusion* imposed upon us by the media, by the industrialists, the economists, the universities, the pharmaceutical companies, the weapons companies... don't believe in lies...
There is a truth far more beautiful...
and it lives in you.
The truth *is* you.
