It's SO WRONG !
As most of you know I live in the West Indies and as you've probably seen in the news several of the Islands have been hit particularly hard by the spate of recent hurricanes and tropical storms.
The poorest of the West Indian Islands is Haiti and the people there live mostly in shacks which can't withstand the onslaught of the cyclones. Reports are still coming in about the many deaths that the tropical storm Jean has caused - more than 250 dead with many people unacounted for!
Haiti isn't the only island that's been hit - in fact few of the island have escaped unhurt!
The Guadeloupians like many of the Islands here are going all out to try and send as much aid as they can - so what's wrong with that you might ask !
Well - we're just finding out that some of the aid that's being sent out to Grenadad is only reaching a selected part of the islands population !!
Only the people who belong to the Grenadians political party are recieving any aid - the rest of the population are going without food water clothing .... this is so WRONG !
Quite a lot of people here are so disgusted that they are begining to have second thoughts about contributing anything at all to the islands in need !
Once again 'solidarity' looks as though it's going to die because of nepotism and corruption !
I can't personally do anything about it - except to register here that I PROTEST ! IT IS WRONG !

Un bilan encore provisoire faisait état lundi de 250 morts, principalement en Haïti où une aide internationale est attendue. Ivan s'est dissipé.
Jeanne serait déjà plus meurtrière qu'Ivan. Son passage à Haïti aurait fait 250 morts, selon l'ONU. En République Dominicaine, au moins sept personnes sont mortes. Jeanne semble désormais s'éloigner des terres en direction de l'Atlantique tandis que la queue du cyclone Ivan, qui a tué au moins 108 personnes aux Etats-Unis et dans les Caraïbes, s'est dissipée ces dernières heures.
Les dégâts à Haïti, essentiellement dans le nord de l'île, ont été causés par des inondations et des crues provoquées par des pluies diluviennes dans le sillage de Jeanne. 80% de la ville des Gonaïves, à environ 110 km de Port-au-Prince, sont sous eau, de même qu'une grande partie de Port-de-Paix au nord-ouest du pays. De nombreuses plantations ont été détruites, du bétail emporté par les flots.

Le Centre national des ouragans, basé à Miami a averti que la tempête qui se trouvait dimanche au nord des Bahamas pourrait reprendre de la vigueur dans les prochains jours. Jeanne est la quatrième grande dépression tropicale de l'été dans les Caraïbes, après Charley, Frances et Ivan.
Le bilan de 108 morts après le passage de ce dernier ouragan reste ouvert. Selon la chaîne de télévision CNN, dimanche, des personnes étaient toujours portées disparues en Floride et en Caroline du nord. Les prévisionnistes faisaient état dimanche soir d'un nouveau cyclone en formation dans l'Atlantique, prénommé Karl, à environ 2000 kilomètres à l'ouest des îles du Cap Vert.
It's probable that Karl is going to go north and miss the islands - but a new cyclone was born this afternoon Lisa - and it's heading our way !

The death toll in Haiti has risen this morning to 500 and is expected to be even higher in the coming days.
