New Civilization News: Thou Shalt Not War! |
Category: Violence, War 8 comments 5 Mar 2005 @ 22:16 by hgoodgame : And of courseno one wants to comment, right? Right! Swanny, I agree, war is what we're not supposed to do. It's in the top 10 if heaven is your goal. Yet, there is the Bhagavad Gita, where it is noble if that is your 'calling', to go to war, it's all just one big drama unfolding, the fallen already fallen, the victor already victorious, so play your part and don't forget what that is when the crush is on. My guess is it is both, depends on where you put your eyes. It's hard, isn't it, to see, to have awareness that falls on deaf ears, like, well, now you know, but so what, if no one else can hear you? Well, now you know, they have to find out for themselves just like you did. Makes the world not one iota less lonely. "Is that all there is? If that's all there is, my friends, then let's keep dancing Let's break out the booze and have a ball If that's all there is..." Lyrics by John Parish & Polly Jean Harvey ;) 5 Mar 2005 @ 23:06 by swanny : Thanks Hoody Thanks hgood I suppose the "thou shalt" is perhaps a bit heavy handed though.... None my self included likes to be shalted on what to do... so then perhaps "It is not a good idea to war because war is hell" Have a listen to the new song at the church of art its at this link here Link = http://www.webville.biz/church.html Enjoy and thanks again... 5 Mar 2005 @ 23:32 by hgoodgame : I couldn't find the new song, though I found some of yours at the music place, which were good! You may call me Heidi, btw, sir swan. LOL Is there perhaps another link I missed to the new song you referred to? 5 Mar 2005 @ 23:36 by swanny : Oh sorry I forgot PCs don't play midi files Its the song Day by Day by Godspell It comes on automatically when you go to that link but I guess you need a Quicktime player Hmmmm thanks I see if I can convert it somehow Thanks Heidi 5 Mar 2005 @ 23:44 by swanny : Okay Converted it to Mp3 you can try it again if you like 6 Mar 2005 @ 00:30 by hgoodgame : Oh I know that song and am listening to it right now right here in my Mp_t head, lol. A lovely song from Jesus Christ, Superstar, wasn't it? My PC does play midi files, but I still am not able to get that particular link to do anything except bring up the picture of the album and the link below to the map. Don't worry, though, as I said, now that I know which song you were referring to, I can hear it words and all thanks to my phonographic memory! Remember this one? Last night i had the strangest dream I'd ever dreamed before I dreamed the world had all agreed To put an end to war I dreamed i saw a mighty room The room was filled with men And the paper they were signing said They'd never fight again And when the papers all were signed And a million copies made They all joined hands and bowed their heads And grateful prayers were prayed And the people in the streets below Were dancing round and round And guns and swords and uniforms Were scattered on the ground Last night i had the strangest dream I ever dreamed before I dreamed the world had all agreed To put an end to war ..Simon and Garfunkel.. 6 Mar 2005 @ 00:45 by jerryvest : Thou Shall 'Kill' thy Neighbor... I'm sure that the average Christian would say: "Onward Christian Soldiers...Let's go off to War...Kill those heathens and put those dope addicts and right wing commies in jail.:) Jerry 6 Mar 2005 @ 00:56 by hgoodgame : Who will love a little sparrow? Who's traveled far and cries for rest? "not I," said the oak tree, "I won't share my branches with No sparrow's nest, And my blanket of leaves won't warm Her cold breast." Who will love a little sparrow And who will speak a kindly word? "not I," said the swan, "the entire idea is utterly absurd, I'd be laughed at and scorned if the Other swans heard." Who will take pity in his heart, And who will feed a starving sparrow? "not I," said the golden wheat, "I would if I could but I cannot I know, I need all my grain to prosper and grow." Who will love a little sparrow? Will no one write her eulogy? "I will," said the earth, "for all I've created returns unto me, From dust were ye made and dust ye shall be." ..Simon and Garfunkel.. I believe that the Smother's Brothers were thrown off the air for doing a segment regarding all the nations religious leaders from around the world, each blessing their soldiers to go off and kill because 'they' were God's chosen. So not just Christians but all, as the prince of the city tells the townsfolk at the end of Romeo and Juliet, ALL, are punished by their narrow-minded fueding. They have lost their best and finest in the process. :( Other entries in Violence, War 27 May 2010 @ 13:49: Memorial Day, 2010, A National Disgrace 28 Dec 2008 @ 06:42: Endless Israeli Atrocity 28 Nov 2008 @ 07:39: Myth of Thanksgiving 8 Nov 2008 @ 15:46: War Hurts Families 21 Oct 2008 @ 08:33: 36 MILLION DEAD BY AMERICA’S AGGRESSIONS, WHAT SAYETH OBAMA? 5 Sep 2008 @ 11:35: BEIJING OLYMPICS: LAST GAMES, AS WORLD WAR III COMES 17 Aug 2008 @ 12:48: AUGUSTUS CEASAR OR BONAPARTE RETURNED TO ROLE-PLAY GLOBAL TYRANT 9 Apr 2008 @ 15:44: An Introduction To Social Pathology Of Police And Federal Agents 3 Apr 2008 @ 18:10: Few Care To Listen, *Until They Discover That... 12 Nov 2007 @ 11:23: Re: happy veteran's day & Pakistan?
