The Raven King
Rascaminous raven squires his gleaming coat
His eyes flashing in golden reflected sunrises
Holding the wind up in his wandering circles
And swooping strafes by the seeded fields
Crying to the lonely winds,
He wakes the slumbering,
Warns the unwatchful,
And calls his brothers into a death's convention
Watch as he gathers his family and friends
Into great feasts of squawking argument
Fluttering, and swaggering his royal privilege
Awaiting his due reverence
Great Raven King flies to the sky
Chasing the setting crimson clouds
And the cold rushing air of night
Only to disappear into his midnight kingdom
One more squawk
And he's gone
