White Rabbit strikes again: The illconceived illusion of illimited illumination19 comments

Yes, he was seen again: the illustre but illicit and illusionary appearance of the white rabbit, digging underneath the wall that separates our garden from the wildness of the Brazilian jungle, its ferocious plants, unique varieties of the 'mata atlantica' along with common vines and shrubs.

He smiled, a leaf between his silly teeth: "you don't know what I found here, hahahaha", he giggled. "If you want to be illuminated, just chew a bit of that one, hahahahaha".

I should have known better. But my illimited desire for illumination won over my more rational aspects. I chew on it. And I became unconscious for hours and felt sick for days.

The next time I saw the White Rabbit, I was in the mood to prepare him for Sunday nite dinner. "You've been f..ing lying to me, you slimy m...r!"

"Not so, my stupid friend!" he countered my insult. "Tell me, what does the word 'illumination' REALLY mean? Think about it, and you'll see that you got what I promised!"

Coming to know the White Rabbit quite well over the years, I knew he was up to something. OK, then, il-legal means 'unlawful', il-limited means 'without limits', so 'il-lumination' must mean 'WITHOUT (en)lightening'.

"Well, well, well," I spoke to the rabbit. "I can see your trick! Now, who in the world turned this word around?"

White Rabbit laughed out loud. "Whoever claims to 're-veal' things, which means putting a new veil on top on an existing one without UN-vealing it, may also be guilty for creating the joke of the word 'il-lumination', don't you think so? You were quite ill because of the herb of illumination. I feel sorry for you! If I were a crocodile, a big tear would pour out of my right eye now. But, then again, I am white rabbit, you know!"

"I deserved no better," I conceded, thinking of revenge.

"You're quite an illustrous creature!" I finally said with a smile.

And at that, the White Rabbit turned red in his face, the eyes bulged forward, foam formed between his lips.

Finally, finally, I found an insult for the White Rabbit!

Dear Reader, do you know why a rabbit hates the word 'illustrous', haha-hoho?

Have a great Sunday, everybody!

:-) 'illustrous'
il = WITHOUT" as stated above by mx.

lustrous derivation... luster n.[< Fr. < It. < L. lustrare, to illumine < lustrum, LUSTRUM]

lustrous adj. having luster; shining; bright -- Webster's New World Dictionary

White Rabbit you are illustrous. You are WITHOUT luster. You are dull, flat. White Rabbit you are WITHOUT shining and instead of even reflecting and glowing you block such. White Rabbit you are WITHOUT brightness and you are dumb and are without light. White Rabbit, you have no identity except naming names of those who do shine with brightness and you simply try to find your identify by naming lights and bask in their light... as if that make you important. NOT, White Rabbit!

How is that MX ha ha ha... ;-) This is fun and enlightening!

Most Everlightly,
Owl Woman

ahah ...so, what does the word 'illusion' REALLY mean?

3 Jun 2009 @ 23:24 by Oscar @93.35.246.10 : il-lusion
"ludere" (latin) = "giocare" (italian)
il-lusion = without game...
but..."without game" is a game...
ahahah

4 Jun 2009 @ 00:33 by mx @201.92.195.202 : il- as in ill or 'wrong'
methinks 'illusion' meant originally a 'false game', a trick, a cheat.

Final hint for illustrous: lustro in italian is a vagabond, a wanderer. In medieval times there were the much hated (by the 'authorities') 'bards' who put strange thoughts into the heads of the enslaved population and needed to be denounced as 'bad'. In German tradition still exists a positive echo of this (or at least existed) in the form of the 'wandering craftsmen' and in parallel the movement of 'wandering in nature', based on the unexplicable but miraculous energy/motivation called 'Wanderlust' in German.

4 Jun 2009 @ 01:02 by Oscar @93.35.246.10 : the wanderer
ahahah ...remind me a great U2's song featuring Johnny Cash...

THE WANDERER
I went out walking
Through streets paved with gold
Lifted some stones
Saw the skin and bones
Of a city without a soul
I went out walking
Under an atomic sky
Where the ground won't turn
And the rain it burns
Like the tears when I said goodbye
Yeah I went with nothing
Nothing but the thought of you
I went wandering

I went drifting
Through the capitals of tin
Where men can't walk
Or freely talk
And sons turn their fathers in
I stopped outside a church house
Where the citizens like to sit
They say they want the kingdom
But they don't want God in it

I went out riding
Down that old eight lane
I passed by a thousand signs
Looking for my own name

I went with nothing
But the thought you'd be there too
Looking for you

I went out there
In search of experience
To taste and to touch
And to feel as much
As a man can
Before he repents

I went out searching
Looking for one good man
A spirit who would not bend or break
Who would sit at his father's right hand
I went out walking
With a bible and a gun
The word of God lay heavy on my heart
I was sure I was the one
Now Jesus, don't you wait up
Jesus, I'll be home soon
Yeah I went out for the papers
Told her I'd be back by noon

Yeah I left with nothing
But the thought you'd be there too
Looking for you

Yeah I left with nothing
Nothing but the thought of you

4 Jun 2009 @ 01:24 by Oscar @93.35.246.10 : others "il-lusions" :)
according to the cultural association "Nemus" of Venice (Italy):

Al-lusione (ad-ludere: portarsi nel gioco) = move in the game
Col-lusione (cum-ludere: giocare insieme) = play together
IL-LUSIONE (IN-LUDERE: ENTRARE NEL GIOCO) = ENTER THE GAME
De-lusione (de-ludere: uscire dal gioco) = exit the game

One can conclude that the reality and illusion are the same thing ?.... a joke, a crazy game that in truth is not even played, or .... a game that is designed to be no really played ..oh !! so much light dazzles enlightened the illusion that I can not see

5 Jun 2009 @ 14:42 by Everlight @68.39.26.226 : il- as in ill or 'wrong'
Okay... mx says "methinks 'illusion' meant originally a 'false game', a trick, a cheat." Oh yes, Native peoples all have tails of 'The Trickster'. That fits so well.

Back to 'illustrous' and another hint... hummm good! 'Wanderlust' the " unexplicable but miraculous energy/motivation." I did learn of this some years ago when I worked in Germany. I have traveled much and a German friend told me I had 'Wanderlust'. That rather tickled me as I like the 'feeling' of this word.

So now, the vagabond strolled about, wandering and moving from place to place. Such wandering in nature put this vagabond in contact with many people. The lustrous vagabond filled with 'Wanderlust' did shine brightly with stories of what was really going on through out the lands. The "bards" thus detested such wanderers for exposing them to the light of day! Oh, and vagabonds likely ate lots of White Rabbits while wondering in nature. ;) Owls also thinks White Rabbits are tasty!

5 Jun 2009 @ 18:55 by mx @189.46.97.224 : lustrous programs
methinks Elen and Lynn are 'wandering' computer programs (called bots), quite lustrous. But who hated whom back them, methinks, again, were the aristocrats of that time hating some of the bards who exposed them (many 'noble men' as well). Illustrous would have been one who had his own castle and wasn't roving around the countryside.

5 Jun 2009 @ 19:45 by Everlight @68.39.26.226 : Lustrous programs and 'noble men'...
OH! ...and AH!

5 Jun 2009 @ 20:45 by mx @189.46.97.224 : strange, nobody asked WHAT plant it was.
hmmm.. nobody seems to be interested in knowing the whereabouts of the plant the White Rabbit gave to me...

6 Jun 2009 @ 10:00 by dario @93.36.98.67 : plant
yeah, right...

what kind of plant was it?
