Azure skies over NCN again
You arrive, dance about
looking evanescent and swift
the only fuchsia part--that cockatrice
blazing near silence
where swans await.
Now the black cockatrice fades
into azure beginnings
then swan once more.

THE MUSE
--- by Brom
There is something in the woods behind my house. It calls to me.
The woods are old and full of spirits. The branches of the trees twist and tangle together like arthritic fingers. I dislike going into the woods behind my house, especially near dark. But tonight I will go. I really do not have a choice.
I enter the woods and the shadows watch me. I go far. I do not leave breadcrumbs. I am not lost, but I am not sure where I am either. I really should have left breadcrumbs. More >

The Moody Goblin

I am going to begin with a startling insight: There is nothing to make one consider one’s own creative writing process like a creative writing room. More >

OK, this one truly belongs in the Creative Writing room :-)
It's Halloween night, and our young friend Sam is getting ready to go trick-or-treating. He wanted to be Darth Maul, but his grandfather decided that being a fuzzy bear was better... More >

The Picture that almost got censored :-)
Those are the comments that were generated over the picture that came with the Roundtable Template post. I am posting them here for now (a NCN moment) as I have now removed them from the post on which they originally appeared. I am thinking of the people who (hopefully) will be visiting The Muse in the future and who might possibly want to refer to the Template on "how to anchor a Rountable" and I do not see any reason for them to run into comments, which amusing as they might be (to us), had (most of them) nothing to do whatsoever with the technicalities of the subject at hand. A roundtable project is a collaborative project in which two or more writers participate in the writing of a same story.
This is an example of what the Reference Index for such a story could look like (the format would vary depending on the nature of the project.)
The purpose of such a Reference Index is to serve as an anchor from which all the entries relating to a story can be pulled together and from which new directions can be noted as the participants move along with the project. More >

The Rainbow People
by Andy Lehman
We jumped into the prism
Because we wanted to see ourselves.
We wanted to probe the light that drove us.
As we passed through we felt ourselves split,
And we were made whole.
We saw in ourselves every color,
Every language, and every mode of being.
We felt our consciousness
Fulfilling its highest purpose:
To bring out in us a picture of every possible future;
Every beautiful dream and Every vicious nightmare;
We held within us the light, the dark,
And all the subtle hues in between.
To become lost in the labyrinth of oneself
Is to become clear to the rest of the world.
And in that clarity the world will heal.
We will find our truth. More >

For instance, this would be the archive... section 1 of Francis' three section dealy. Technical stuff, quotes from Nietzsche, etc. It could be any of the three... this is just the way my intuition would set it up. More >
