DIVERSITY STANDARDS
I have entitled this article diversity standards but must qualify it somewhat by saying it is somewhat of an overstatement, in that I don't suspect that diversity could really be addressed as a set of standards. No, more so in keeping with its true nature, I suspect that the best method of approach to essential diversity, is to regard that there must always be at least some minumun degree or continuum of diversity in order to ensure the holistic sustainability of any and all planetary life.
This aspect of planetary life was probably first observed and scientifically documented by James Lovelock in his Gaia Theory. I would go further then simply his atomospheric analysis and say that it suggests in addition that this may be a primeval evolutionary planetary strategy though quite complex but towards the existence of the Diverse Web of Life as a whole. Diversity then might exist at some deep point or points or cycle or cycles, as a mean of sorts but which is now fundemenatly esstential and necessary to the planet we now inhabit.
Therefore in conclusion, the gist of this arguement being that diversity is not simply nice or good but that it may indeed be necessary and a need towards keeping life existing at all and as such then it is paramount that some degree or mean or continuum of diversity always be kept in order to ensure the survival, continuance and sustainabilty of any and all life here on the planet Earth.

Global rights pledge under considerable strain: UN
UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour has criticised the global response to terrorism, warning that the international community's pledge to uphold freedom and security is under "considerable strain".
"As we commemorate International Human Rights Day 2004, the vision and the promise contained in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are under considerable strain," Ms Arbour said.
"Few of us are free from fear; many us are still not free from want.
"The sinister shadow of terrorism is generating a confused response, unanchored in the principles that have guided us in the search for a proper balance between our desire for collective security and our need for liberty and individual freedom."
UN human rights officials have repeatedly raised concerns about detainees held in the US military base in Guantanamo Bay as well as abuse in the US-run Abu Ghraib jail in Baghdad.
Ms Arbour's office has also sharply criticised mass human rights violations in Sudan's strife-torn western region of Darfur this year, where 1.5 million people have fled attacks during an 18-month-old conflict.
She is urging the UN's member states to protect human rights and not to become "prisoners of a culture of fear and an ideology of exclusion and arrogance".
Ms Arbour also sides with a UN reform panel, noting that grievances have been nurtured by poverty, abuse and intolerance while terrorist groups prey on weak states.
The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, a global pledge to protect life, liberty and security, was adopted by the UN's member states on December 10, 1948.
A rotating group of 53 UN member states meet once a year in Geneva in the UN Commission on Human Rights to review observance of those principles.
Human rights groups have sharply criticised the assembly in recent years for failing to take action against states that repeatedly resort to abuse.

Here Comes the Sun
By the Beatles
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say, it's all right.
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter.
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say, it's all right.
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces.
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say, it's all right.
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes...
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting.
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun,
and I say, it's all right.
Here comes the sun, here comes the sun.
It's all right.
It's all right.

THE RAINBOW TREE
WHAT..... strange seed is this that doth grow, HERE...in the dust and filth of despair and wretchedness.
Tis not Love for Love hath wings, Tis not joy for no happy song it sings, and tis not grace of common variety for it is of slow passion, yet here it doth labor and grow, taking and transforming as it nourishment, this
bitter sweet sewage and sludge and makes of it so into these lines most
clear and plain.
Ah but alas for once this was a great city and planet of humanity,
yet some poison of heart did render and wreck upon it disaster great and speedy
and though the whispers of love and light sought vainly to shore up its moorings, it
succumbed and died, deaf and dumb and dead to their ministry, collasping like some great house of cards upon itself and own weight.
But look here what time in its glory and wisdom doth now fashion, this seed, this plant, this tree that we now gaze upon and behold. Yon tree that hath sprung from the wreck of Love and Hate , of Good and Evil,
Tis a wonder, aye? That doth now grow and since so be its nature of darkness and light and of good and evil and of love and hate..... Let us call its name the
Rainbow Tree and eat of its fruit that be both bitter and sweet as is this life we call our own.

An introduction to the science and art of perception management.
The phrase "perception management" is filtering into common use as a synonym for "persuasion." Public relations firms now offer "perception management" as one of their services. Similarly, public officials who are being accused of shading the truth are now frequently charged with engaging in "perception management" when disseminating information to media or to the general public.
Although perception management operations are typically carried out within the international arena between governments, and between governments and citizens, use of perception management techniques have become part of mainstream information management systems in many ways that do not concern military campaigns or government relations with citizenry. Businesses may even contract with other businesses to conduct perception management for them, or they may conduct it in-house with their public relations staff.

Perception management is a term originated by the U. S. military. The U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) gives this definition:
Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all levels to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator's objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations.
