re: moral compasses and money and the environment
interesting how moral compasses tend to align with where ones income is derived from .... as though morality is based strictly on justifying ones income somehow....
seems a strange way to run a just and reasonable society...
where justice and morality is a direct function of the job or career or position that gives one ones livelihood.....
seemingly then thus anything could be justified and be considered moral and lawful on that basis. ....
The defining and logical concluded fact and aspect though perhaps might be that of:
life = good.....
death = bad.....
but i suppose some would even argue that point.....
and in the background is the environment which is that basis of all.... politics, humans, society, mortality, laws, income, money, economy, etc etc..... even spirituality
a dollar thus and economy that is not rooted and beholding to the environment then has no credibility or solid basis, as economy is a subset of environment in ecological economics.
in the battle of human vs human..... nature invariably wins!
on another note though related to time....
29 dec 2011... well not sure what to make of this.... either yesterday or the day before i noted one of my old clocks had stopped working at i guess about 8:20 am mst.... in the morning and i wondered about that because i had just put a brand new battery in it.... anyway the other ones seemed to be working so i just gave the hands a little push and it started up again... but odd today i go downtown and i see the 4 faced town clock also at 8:20 ? on all four sides and wonder as I've got about 10:55 am mst on my wrist watch and computer but the odd thing is the suns angle seems to indicate it to be about 10:00 am mst so?????? I've experienced similar oddities with time before but well....????? all the technology and can't even build decent working clocks.
An introduction to the science and art of perception management.
The phrase "perception management" is filtering into common use as a synonym for "persuasion." Public relations firms now offer "perception management" as one of their services. Similarly, public officials who are being accused of shading the truth are now frequently charged with engaging in "perception management" when disseminating information to media or to the general public.
Although perception management operations are typically carried out within the international arena between governments, and between governments and citizens, use of perception management techniques have become part of mainstream information management systems in many ways that do not concern military campaigns or government relations with citizenry. Businesses may even contract with other businesses to conduct perception management for them, or they may conduct it in-house with their public relations staff.
Perception management is a term originated by the U. S. military. The U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) gives this definition:
Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all levels to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator's objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations.
