A Spring Prayer
Well I don't know about you but it's kinda looking like the Lord is somewhat pissed at humanity at the moment. First a crisis in the Church and then an Act of God or pilot error that wipes out 1/3 of the Polish government and then another Act of God or nature prevents the worlds leaders from attending the funeral of the same.
Now Lord I'm not sure what we've done to annoy you so but please accept our apologies.
Now I know we haven't been taken such good care of this here creation of yours the Earth, but you know we're kinda making it up as we go along and well we're doing the best we can with what we got to work with and yes we have screwed up pretty Royally from time to time and we keep slipping off the wagon and I know the old "we're only human is starting to wear a bit thin" and the giving our word and promise doesn't seem to cut much ice and have much worth any more either but well...?
Now I guess talk is cheap so perhaps to make it up to you and the Earth I'd be willing to chip in a few bucks to the Earth Day offering plate this coming Thursday and then some more in the Church dish on Saturday or Sunday, why and I'll even do a couple or three earth hour power downs on Thursday and not drive my car that day and maybe plant a tree or garden and install my photovoltaic system.
But I know its not much but Lord I'm a poor man myself and well if I think of anything else then well ? but I hope all this is all okay with you and as far as your Church and the abuse scandal well it seems to be getting the message of redemption that you're trying to get across so so far so good.
to the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost
A humble Earthling.
PS and it's looking like its gonna be a dry one so send a bit of rain. More >
An introduction to the science and art of perception management.
The phrase "perception management" is filtering into common use as a synonym for "persuasion." Public relations firms now offer "perception management" as one of their services. Similarly, public officials who are being accused of shading the truth are now frequently charged with engaging in "perception management" when disseminating information to media or to the general public.
Although perception management operations are typically carried out within the international arena between governments, and between governments and citizens, use of perception management techniques have become part of mainstream information management systems in many ways that do not concern military campaigns or government relations with citizenry. Businesses may even contract with other businesses to conduct perception management for them, or they may conduct it in-house with their public relations staff.
Perception management is a term originated by the U. S. military. The U. S. Department of Defense (DOD) gives this definition:
Actions to convey and/or deny selected information and indicators to foreign audiences to influence their emotions, motives, and objective reasoning as well as to intelligence systems and leaders at all levels to influence official estimates, ultimately resulting in foreign behaviors and official actions favorable to the originator's objectives. In various ways, perception management combines truth projection, operations security, cover and deception, and psychological operations.
