Again this January the Green Week [link] and the "Summit" of Agriculture Ministers [link] in Berlin.
The Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) is an international conference that focuses on central questions concerning the future of the global agri-food industry. „Empowering Agriculture – Foster Resilience – Secure Food and Nutrition“[link] I will add the final communiqué from the summit will formulate the Agriculture Ministers' joint position to be considered for the United Nations on the post-2015 agenda. On various events we discuss "Resilience" - an ecological term known some since decades, nor it reaches the policy and business world. "Resilience" you hear in nearly every one in twenty sentences, the next "buzz-word" is "silo" - maybe a good sign, it is fashionable to realize how we are thinking in boxes, with labels, and maybe even worse "flat" and "linear". An antidote to shared common grids or we called a "Cognitive Panorama", [link] - but who reads nowadays when something is 20 years old....

I was Santa Claus last night. My job was to bring presents, not share equal or just pieces for the kids and elders. To give is to empower unconditionally, no deals-mongering, promising returns on "vaporware" futures, which are announced and promised, but have not been delivered (yet) or never will ....
My last blog entry was not about Nuts or Pease, and counting and distributing them fairly! It was about giving Voice, Trust, Encouragement, not just Qualitative Harvesting, but planting Seeds and create a short TimesSpace Incubator, for the unexpected. That is why we call it Magic Roundtables...
The right theme for Christmas, what do you think?
Anyway it was a great present to be called back on deck, to finally finnish the little booklet "The SPOONS PRINCIPLE". It is about more than "sharing", it is about giving a gift unconditionally without expecting or "computing" a return. Maybe we better use it in the context of endowmwent and donation in an altruistic setting. On the surface it is about "giving" and sharing, but fruits or seeds are not to be expected, or going elsewhere without any control. As you can see: SANTA CLAUS is sharing presents without expecting a return, he is on "mission" . In a community - like world community you feel as "one" so give for free without expectations. Friday Night was a very special night for much learning for me and I am thankful as I now feel ready for the publication of the "SPOONS Principle", a booklet under preparation since last year. I had to attend to see the learning curve after the first "PEANUTS Sharing" last year in in the Innovation Circle - Berliner Innovationskreis - A gathering for decades in Berlin.
Last night our theme was: "About new Examples, Experiments and Possibilities of an "Economy of Happiness", which are since long no utopia any more. See the invitation below.

WHAT A TITLE for one event for 4 hours, and what an APPROACH ! This time we did not share COASTERS!, nor STRAWS!, STICKS, CANDELS, SHELLS, SPONGES, small pieces of FUR or STONES or any other kind of tokens (See Magic Roundtable "units" below and how it is as a dialogue format applied as an open, embodied, self-organized, empowering, transparent, surprising, ... approach for small and large gatherings.
Besides: I am always amazed about the symbolic depth of sharing units or tokes, and how it differs in other cultures. Just ask yourselve what it means for you to get some nuts, straws, or spoons !!!
Another question comes up: Is there a "consumption" of time? - are we entiteled" to time? I think this is the essence, we are in a cage of material thinking, time is beyond this, the more you share, the more you have, the more you commit to others you empower others. So Sharing is not about "splitting" but empowering, give voice, .... and not share nuts and peanuts...... Important is agreed frame of time and space, always change and expandable, but good to have commons to trust and negotiate.
Already in Kindergarten we should have leaned that parting and sharing is different - I must confess here, I am a deep fan of Robert Fulghum and his book: EVERYTHING I LEARNED - I LEARNED IN KINDERGARTEN ! Lumping and Splittering / GIVING & TAKING are quite different and the basics, but it looks like such basic, fundamental learnings were forgotten in the later school or higher curricula. What I had to learn today is that that some people think that taking their part and "slittering" is equivalent to Sharing&Empowering, Co-Creationmindbugs and mindboggles I mentioned elsewhere. and see the mastermind: http://quergeist.net/Warfield/ and also mindprints:

On International Human Rights Day, 562 authors, including 5 Nobel Prize laureates, from over 80 countries have joined together to launch an appeal in defense of civil liberties against surveillance by corporations and governments. 5 Nobel Prize Winners have signed: Orhan Pamuk, J.M. Coetzee, Elfriede Jelinek, Günter Grass and Tomas Tranströmer. Also among the signatories are Umberto Eco, Margaret Atwood, Don DeLillo, Daniel Kehlmann, Nawal El Saadawi, Arundhati Roy, Henning Mankell, Richard Ford, Javier Marias, Björk, David Grossman, Arnon Grünberg, Angeles Mastretta, Juan Goytisolo, Nuruddin Farah, João Ribeiro, Victor Erofeyev, Liao Yiwu and David Malouf.
The issue is important and very deer to me. We struggeled with a HUMANE INFORMATION SOCIETY in the early 90ies, The World Summit on Information Sciences (UN_WSIS), and many efforts, but nobody had in mind such a stroke on Sept 11. Jerome Glenn form the Millennium Project presented after the SIS Kouvola 2001 in the Finish Foreign Office on Sept 14th that there is no way to fight terrorism, (add slides and details a.s.a.p.)***** I would add now "especially not by "inteligence agencies" investing in dumb data collections". Why I am rushing this? I promised some of the initiators and well known writers and Publisists, the PEN CLUB, and many others are involved, an interanet page on "Watching" called: The Spectrum of Meaning as publihed in HUMANKYBERNETIK - grkg in 1985 explaining the meaning of the citation “Big Brother is watching you” depending on the context and agency. Who is watching, with which detail and on what scale, for which purpose, with which proportions and consequences.

We see a lot of ignorance and negligence in the public, media, and politics. What we are experiencing is a serious attack on human rights, democracies and constitutions, the way we write and share, hide and ignore. I opt here in teh sense of Herbert Stachowiak to sonsider a spectrum ofg meaning, but also a spectrum of impact along and across scales. I hope it helps if we make such surveillance and data-grabing more concrete by adding the situtation, context, scale, ... in oder to make visible and real what is happening on which scales and which dangers are involved.

The Log links to my work and interests and presents issues and special concern of maybe a very small group of "concerned, engaged generalist" - a Global Interest Group (GIG). This needs to be seen in contrast to the ubiquitous Specialized Interest Groups (SIGs), the "scientific" approach to organize subject areas and specialization and standardization and harmonization! of means, nomenclatures, and modes of thinking. My favorite stories in the WHOLENESS SEMINAR include:

OF GENERAL SYSTEMS THEORY" and "IVAN HAVEL: Longing for Unified Knowledge" where a "specialist" runs into the founding session of the early foundations General Systems, mumbling "this is not my field" or where Ivan M. Havel expresses his search for other kinds of knowledge.
As a starter I also recommend to check my MINDPRINT site, where we add the need for HANDPRINTS and MINDPRINTS, as FOOTPRINTS are good to visualize and communicate numbers, densities or consumption per area, but are not sufficient to negotiate and "harmonize" across domains and communicate gains in different cultures, technologies, times,... in short: incompatible but relevant information and our work on dialog, peace, policy-making, and multi-modal, faceted issues and consequences.
What am I? This is a "well-packed" question for which I have not the or a single answer. Some called me an in-betweener, go-getter, facilitator, hub, marvel-hero, trim-tab, bricoleur, bricoleers??? - career designeer, .... Some even "hank" which I disliked or Story which I liked very much !!
I have no single answer as I feel we need to walk the talk and sing and dance Life ! in spectra and fields in multiple embodied spaces.
To nebulous an answer? I am sorry but I do not go for overclaims and oversimplifications, under-complex and over-simplistic approaches with clan-think mindsets about real issues in clear contexts!
