I recently heard, from a dear friend, about the benefits of active manuka honey for acid reflux. My mom suffers from it but struggles greatly to affort the very expensive Nexium every month so I was looking for an alternative.
My friend said she was on Nexium and also Prevacid and got completely off everything just by using the active manuka honey.
It's important that it be active, look for 16-18 as level of activity. Anything below that may not work for acid reflux although they say the lower active levels are still great for helping burns to heal, and for reducing surgical scars.
The site where my friend gets hers, and therefore one site I can recommend just because I know it worked for her, is manukahoneyusa More >

I went to the first annual renaissance faire at Heartwood Sanctuary in Mentone, Alabama and it was such a fun experience that I thought I'd post the upcoming second annual event here.
Heartwood is a wonderful place. I retreated there for a weekend recently and it was just so peaceful and Sacred. There is a restful energy there but, also, during the fair there is a joyful exhuberance that comes in as well.
Anyway, the faire is on October 13 this year. I'll be there and I hope, if you are in the area (or even if you are not, they have camping spots and sleeping space)
Entry fee is just $5 and it's way fun.
They are looking for vendors, healers and readers as well.
Tell Cathy Neva sent you.

I had a friend with psoriasis in grade school. She suffered embarassment because of her skin and most of us kid's didn't know that it wasn't contagious so we were afraid of our skin touching hers. When I look back on it now, I realize that she must have always felt like a leper or someone unclean. I wish I had known more back then and could have helped her.
Perhaps kids with this skin condition don't suffer anymore like my friend did but I'm sure it still is an embarassment to deal with the symptoms of psoriasis. I have found that there are natural remedies that can help relieve the symptoms and just added some info on caring for psoriasis psoriasis relief to my website.
I would like to hear from any other NEWCIV members or anyone else who happens to read this post, about any additional remedies for psoriasis that you might have personal experience with, good or bad. I'd like to know any remedies that just didn't work as well as any that worked well. More >
