Good day dear friends! This is the New Civilization Model One Cross
Section for May 23, 1995. (We take a cross sectional look at the on
going operations of Model One on a weekly basis to attempt to see obvious
and subtle aspects of the human interaction within the system structure,
as well as interfaces with the New Civilization Network and other
like-minded groups.)
Today we briefly examine the growth of an idea: THE ON-LINE WANT ADS "LIST".
For over a year we have realized that we needed to publish a list of
goods and services that we had for sale (for Time Money), as well as a
list of tasks (jobs) that needed to be done to increase the number and
quantity of the goods and services we had to offer. Our first attempt at
this was a xeroxed list of goods and services and a xeroxed list of jobs
in search of volunteers to do them. These two lists were mailed out by
snail mail to a number of persons. Next came the idea of doing something
like this on e mail. Recently it has been proposed that perhaps we could
use something like an Internet List to accomplish the same thing. An
ordinary list might not do, since it may not have the ability to drop ads
after a certain time, report completed trades, tally up the activity in
each person's Time Money account, and the like. We hope to put something
on the net soon to try out this concept. It may well include a
capability to simply offer goods and services that one has available or
one needs, exclusive of the goods and services of the Model One's eight
divisions.
Now, interestingly enougb, this may tie in to the program that our
InsureCo division has in the very early thinking stages, wherein someone
in need could ask for help, and a temporary team would form to help out.
Thus, one could post a help message, and those who can help would
respond. InsureCo could also augment this by calling on previously
designated persons to pitch in as well. Since this is a global network
many of us are far from others, but the advantage to this is that we can
call on diverse persons and help ultimately anyone in some way, small or
large. This does get interesting.
