From: Max Sandor <max@transmillennium.net>:

After receiving many responses within hours of the Peace Pole
announcement and having determined the best date and time
for erecting and initiating it, there are a couple of points
that I want to revise and on to the original announcement:

Peace Pole (Addendum/Revision)
------------------------------

Most existing 'peace poles' use as inscription(s) the
equivalent of the English phrase "May Peace
Prevail On Earth'. After my initial request part for
translations, the vast majority of responses expressed
dissatisfaction with this wording even though I already
had left off the restrivtive part 'On Earth'.

This is, of course, an interesting and important
(world-wide!) response that reaches beyond the significance
of the New Civilization Peace Pole itself.

Therefore, the wording of the pledge (not just a wimpy wish!)
expressed on the pole in many different languages, shall be
up to the contributors of the phrase, and it is not 'required'
to be as close to 'May Peace Prevail' as possible.

For example: the Interlingua phrase on the peacepole
(contributed by Leland Yeager) will be:

"Que Regna le Pace!", who substituted 'prevail' with
'reign' and the Latin phrase (contributed by Burt Wilson)
will be:

"Pax Cultura' (Peace through Culture) - "That is because
peace is not the absence of war, but the presence of cultural
understanding." (Burt Wilson).

The initiation of the peacepole will be on

Jan 23rd, 1998, at noon, in Tujunga, California

Here is an excerpt from an interpretation by Carol Willis, a Professional
Astrologer since 1970, (cbwillis@netcom.com), who
determined this date:

(quote)
...
Fits the old song Age of Aquarius:
when the Moon is in the 7th house, and Jupiter aligns with
Mars, then peace will guide the planet, and love will steer
the stars, this is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius...

The peace pole will be a partial fulfillment of this 60's
lyrical prophecy."
(end of quote)

Thank you all for your wonderful and thoughtful responses!!!

Max
