Here are the projects I'm currently working on:
(I'm listing only the non-for-profit projects)
- a new way of storing information about the 4000+
plants from all around the world that are in
the Mathias Botanical Garden at UCLA.
http://149.142.240.3/bg/
The objective is to creative AND actual Virtual Tour
Paths on demand (by specifying region, blooming season, etc)
- a Pali Language Online database (Pali is a language
spoken at the time of Gotamo Siddharto (the 'Buddha')
http://149.142.240.150:591/pali_srch.htm
This database will include Weblinks to existing references
on the 'net and will try to experiment with wordfield
contexts as well.
- an online book (and mailing list) that presents a
new look at the _original_ message of Gotamo Siddharto
(later on called the 'Buddha') and a comparison with
modern mind technologies, theories, and the New Age.
Critical, funny, and enlightening at the same time:

I have been watching as you post these projects and I think many are very
ambitious and quite plausible. Not really sure how to write this one up,
but I will try. I have purchased 20 acres in eastern Washington State, with
the dream of building an intentional community of like-minded persons here.
I have drilled a well and have had power (grid) brought in. I have several
ideas for self-sufficiency, including, but not limitied to:
1. Cottage industry in manufacturing and selling handcrafts of various
sorts; barettes, dream catchers, medicine wands, small bird houses, kitty
houses, dog houses, and simple toys for children.
2. Weekend retreats on the land, whereby we invite a guest
speaker/teacher to present a pre-planned program to those interested in the
topic. Our thoughts have included a Survival Study, Field Recognition of
Edible Plants and Herbs, Basic Organic Gardening, Food Storage (canning,
freezing, and drying), Shelters of All Kinds for All Kinds of People, Living
in the Woods, Nature's Cures, Back to Basics, Earth Medicine, Shaman's
Journey, Practical Intuition and Personal Health, Log Homes and How to Build
Your Own, Living Without Electricity, and At One With Earth and Nature.
3. Sponsoring Barter Fairs, as well as selling at them and perhaps
setting up some kind of concession stands for drinks and sandwiches.
4. Wilderness Weekend Camps for City Kids, to be organized and held on
the property, in which we could teach youngsters some basic survival skills,
shelter-building, leathcrafting, respect for the land, and some Nature
awareness skills.
5. A summertime Adventure Playground for younger kids. Parents who
enroll for any of the seminars or retreats could enroll their little ones in
the Playground, which would be supervised, educational play that would teach
the little ones something about the wilderness and how to be at home here,
as well as some handcrafts that would be useful to them now and in the
future. The Playground could also be open during the week for children to
come and learn the same sorts of things, even if the parents were not taking
a retreat or seminar at the time.
6. I would very much like to start a business in herbs. Growing them
and making the concoctions, emulsions, and salves, as well as selling the
herbs in plant form, or in powder or capsules. I am fascinated with the
power of herbs and have been using them myself for quite some time. I
believe that there is a great market for this business in this area, as I
have not been able to find the ones *I* want and need, without going several
towns away. We might even possibly conduct herb awareness classes or have
herb gardening meetings with other local folks, just so they know what to do
and how to do it right. I use herbs in pot` pouri, soaps, cleansers,
medicinals, and shamanic rites. I am quite certain that this would be a
welcome addition to our area and I do not think we would lack for customers.
We could basically help a person go from seed to finished product with any
and all of the herbs that I can grow here.
If you would like to know a bit more about me, I have a homepage set
up at http://www.geocities.com/Athens/Acropolis/9627. Please feel free to
take a look. I would love to have you visit.
If you would like to know more about the intentional community, which
we are calling G.O.L.D. (Golden Octave Light Depot), please feel free to
visit our website at: http://www.nettaxi.com/citizens/GOLDepot. I think you
will like what you see.
If anyone is interested in joining the community or just helping get
it built and ready to be inhabited, I would welcome the assistance. We
recently had a pretty nasty fire and a lost one building and several
appliances. We cannot, financially, at this time, replace them, but we are
rebuilding the building. We are now at the point of planning and cutting in
a road and marking off building sites. We have the well drilled and still
need the pump, controller box and plumbing supplies and equipment. We need
to run power from the power pole...back about 500 feet (I think), to the
well, and then power and water from there to at least one or two of the
marked homesites. We will be putting in a couple of root cellars for food
storage and one for an underground shelter in case of severe earth storms
and such. We have plans for a central community *temple* and a longhouse,
plus small cottages for visitors and guests. The plans for landscaping, as
far as walking paths and gardens, are still pretty much in my head, but will
be getting onto paper in the very near future. This is the *ground floor*
of the whole project, so to speak. I, personally, am not much help with the
physical labor, as I must use crutches or a wheelchair to get around. My
greatest assistant is my seven-year-old, StarFawn. She is a wonder at
helping, but is still a very small person. :) :) :)
As far as what we need: I guess we need everything. Ground breaking
equipment is costly and hard to come by. Tillers for the gardens and other
smaller tools, wagons, wheelbarrows, and/or materials to build with would be
greatly appreciated, as would someone who knows how to build a greenhouse
and/or hydroponics units. I am putting in the food garden this week and
then planting the seeds for seedstock the following week. I will be
building some small, portable planting boxes that can be set outdoors during
the warmer days and taken into a greenhouse on the cooler nights.
If anyone has information or experience in alternative building
procedures and/or laws affecting such, please contact me. We are thinking
strongly of strawbale building, as well as tires and rammed earth (for the
root cellars), and lodgepole log cabins, too. I am open to anything that is
less expensive, even if it is a bit more labor intensive in the beginning.
I think the small cottages would do well with strawbale, as the insulation
factor is so high, and it does get cold here in the winter. I was thinking
of log cabin type structure for the longhouse and most likely simple
woodframe and glass and/or plexiglass/plastic for the greenhouses.
I would also be very happy to hear from anyone who has
information/experience with alternative forms of energy. I have some solar
panels and batteries, but do not yet know how to set it up for the maximum
benefit. We are also considering the use of a windmill to assist in power
output, as we do have some fairly strong winds here a good deal of the time.
These, plus some inductive heating and a waterstove, along with the
woodburning stoves for the cabins, would suffice to fill our energy needs.
If anyone knows about these forms of energy, please email me. Your input
would be greatly appreciated and welcome.
I am sure that I could continue writing until there would be enough here for
a book, but I think I have covered the basic ideas here. I appreciate what
you are doing here and wish you all Love and Light in your various projects
and endeavors!

Greetings. Thank you for your work in putting our projects out into a wider
world. Our project is The Oracular Tree, a website devoted to
tranformation. We take the position that the stories (any kind - including
scientific theory) we tell ourselves determine the outcome of our
lives. We are a repository of stories, visual art, poems, essays, etc
that transform current western cultural paradigms. We are guided by
hope, love, and the reintegration of the Feminine Principle with the
Masculine as the spiritual fulcrum of society. You may find us at

My name is Ajay and I live in Bangalore, southern India.
All of us have certain professional training, skills and talents.
But a lot of possibilties remain unexplored.
In my present job as a graphics designer I find that my time, efforts,
skills and talents are not only underutilised, but used to promote and
advertise elements of the materialistic and non-holistic lifestyle that perhaps
are delaying the impending transformation of our civilization.
It is my intention to use a large amount, if not all of my talents and
time, to contribute to healing and transforming the world. I am sure many are
in similar situations.
I say that one of the most important needs of this hour is for people to
have the possiblities and opportunities to use their time and efforts to
forward something that really calls them and not to be stuck in a world that
does not work for them and one that they do not subscribe to.
The need of the hour is to use the synergy generated by this type of
networking (NCN) to manifest our intentions into this
reality - in the HERE AND NOW.
When people meet inside the context of NCN, many associations
are possible. One aspect of any such association could be to
participate in healing and transformational projects, and,
the other could be to do what one would do anyway by way of their
present professions.
I am looking for individuals and groups who I can work with in my
professional capacity as a graphic designer-artist, and, as a healer
committed to transformation.
Here is what I bring to the party:
I am a freelance graphic designer by profession - multimedia,
web pages, 3d modelling and walkthroughs, desktop publishing,
prepress design, etc. I also have a diploma in Interior design.
I paint (mostly watercolour abstacts) and write poems too.
I practise holistic healing (Reiki, Dowsing, psychic healing).
I have been involved in healing and transformational work for over
three years now. I honed my peoples (relationship), enrollment,
managment and group dynamics skills working with an organisation
involved in delivering transformational and human effectiveness
programs worldwide.
So, it is my intention to connect with individuals/groups (anywhere),
who I can work with - not only to suppliment my earning,
but also to contribute to what really calls me.
And what really calls me is the possibility that -
" THE WORLD WORKS AND PEOPLE CARE."
Looking forward to all 'light' connections.
love,
Ajay.

You asked about projects.
My biggest project is myself.
When I relize that the world around me
is just a reflection of self
then, when I focus on self
things will work out all around me
in direct accordance with the work
I have done on self.
That is why when individuals "set up" projects
and they fall through (not work out)
then it means that the individual has
self-sabotaged that project. Then the rest of
the environment around us proves our
subconscious non-survival effort.
I am sure you know what I mean
as you have written about some of your projects
and that haven't worked out.
I teach this in my Concepts of Personal Management stuff.
If you like I could introduce this concept to others
so that they could better causitive over their time
money and energy.

24.4. 1998 Stockholm Sweden
This is the first letter from "United Citizens" and it is dedicated to
"THE TIBETAN STRUGGLE FOR HUMAN RIGHTS", which has been
going on since 1950, when UN refused to oblige the tibetan
appeal for help.
This letter is called "UNITED CITIZENS FOR TIBET", since we can
not participate in this silent death-help to the Tibetan Citizens.
It is too painful to witness the extermination of a peaceloving people
and their culture, so we, ordinary citizens, must rise our voices and
express our deep concern for Tibet.
This letter is a collection of names, a petition, send from Friend to
Friend, and we hope that You will read and add Your name to the list.
This letter contains:
A) INFORMATION ABOUT TIBET
B) INFORMATION about this letter "UNITED CITIZENS FOR TIBET"
C) The list of Names, called VOICES. You can add Your name there,
you can also add information, encouragement, etc.
A) INFORMATION ABOUT TIBET
- Tibet were invaded by China in october 1950
- Dalai Lama fled to India 17.3.1959.
- Buddhism is not a religion, it is merely a life-philosophy.
"Buddha" means "the Enlightened One" and were a Teacher.
The tibetan buddhism emphases the importance of Compassion
in our dailly life.
- Tibet were discussed at UN in 1959, 1961, 1965.
- Tibet were also discussed at The European Parlament at
Strasbourg 1988. But nothing has changed!
In this very moment six tibetan refugees are Hunger Striking
in New Delhi since 10.3.
The hunger strikers are demanding:
- that the UN resume its debate on the Tibet question.
- They are also calling for the appointment of a Special Rapporteur to
investigate human rights abuses,
- a Special Envoy to supervise a plebiscite on the question of
Tibetan self-rule.
B) INFORMATION about this letter "UNITED CITIZENS FOR TIBET"
If You agree that UN should immediately act FOR Tibet, please,
add Your name to the Voices, and send the letter to Your Friends.
You can also add Your thoughts - but be short.
WHEN THE LETTER CONTAINS 10 VOICES send it
- to Kofi Annan, UN. E-mail : broyer@un.org
"Office of the Spokesman for the secretary-general" :
- To President Clinton, who is on his way to China.
e-mail: http://www2.whitehouse.gov/WH/Welcome.html
- to YOUR government, where ever it is.
When the 10-voiced letter is completed : You can take away the
ten "Old Voices" and start a new letter, sign it again and send it to new
Friends. Thank You for Your Contribution!
Unfortunately it is not possible to protect this open letter against
sabotage,so You don«t need to add Your e-mail adress. If You think that
this is toorisky, You can always send private direct-letters! And those
whose dare to participate - if You recieve something strange, please
send the letter to me!
If you don«t want to express anything at all, please, send the letter back
to me. Don«t let it fall in the Big Sleep in your mailbox.
If something in this letter is unclear - don«t hesitate to contact me!
With my best regards to You all.
Ritva Nybacka ran.design@stockholm.mail.telia.com
C: The Namelist "VOICES". You can add your Name & Thoughts here:
1.
"We are what we think.
All that we are arises with our thoughts.
With our thoughts we make the world.
Speak or act with a pure mind
And happiness will follow you
As your shadow, unshakable."
Dhammapada, chapter 1: Choices
What would you think if somebody came to your home, rapes your
wife, kills your children, sleeps in your bed and eats your food,
and steals all your money?
You would protest and defend your familiy. You would also ask for help.
What would you think, if people refused to help you, asserting that
nothing has happened?
And if you ask again, they might accept that something has happend,
but since it already has happened, they can«t do anything about it.
So, why not just forget it?
What would you do then? Would you think that your house is not your
house and has never been? That your money now rightfully belongs
to the thief? No, you wouldn«t.
You would rely on the laws we have and you would be sure that
somebody would help you. So did tibetans too!
But the silent message from UN to the tibetans is: Just forget it!
We are, as citizens, protected by laws, so how come that our
governments can act as if there were no laws for them at all?
Are we not responsible for our governments?
Yes, we are, so don«t let our governments sell our raped Neighbours
on the Political Low Price Market!
Even if our lives seem to have no value for our governments it is not true.
The human life is priceless!
Please, listen to the Voice of the dying tibetan people!

I just recently learned of a ranch selling off acreage in parcels of 20, 50
and 100 acres in western most texas at about $170-250 per acre. Reasonable
climate, low price and lots of space make this a location to consider for a
community.
That is what I am considering, and thought others like minded might be
interested.
I have details, email me with questions; thank you
