Hendrix Goes Beyond Rock?
Recently visited the Imperial War Museum, London
[link] and noticed that the Jimi Hendrix version of Star Spangled Banner is now a permanent, looping soundtrack to a film in the museum's Vietnam war display. This definately takes Hendrix beyond Rock Music into a realm of musical creativity occupied by the likes of Mozart and Beethoven, were music transcends being an artform into that of a cultural statement that disects the very heart of Human Behaviour, because the Human Race still settles it's scores via Military Destruction, surely this is the point Hendrix was making with his mangled version of the American National Anthem?
