People tend to stay away from members that prefer not to tell something about themselves. Also some members have created false names. Are you one of them? [email protected] fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 09:53 by swan : I love the idea of a shared newslog, The Cauldron II is one that is shared by members of a work group. It will be fun to see what happens here. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 10:21 by scotty : Yes ! and we can put the things in here that we don't want to clutter up our own logs with ! heh heh heh naah - just kidding! A shared log is neat ! fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 10:43 by jazzolog : Here's To The Sharing... always the nicest part of the NCN experience. I too look forward to the getting-to-know-you. Take your time. As elsewhere, we often want everything at once on the Internet. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 11:30 by swanny : Tis a Conspiracy I'll venture..... Or perhaps not perhaps it may even be an..... gasp..... an "unconspriacy" my gosh hide the women and children.... tis the blue boy.... or John boy goodnight maryellensuefreida *smirks* you should really take the eco footprint quiz on my log .... it a real toe or eye opener.... is that like a can opener with eyes hmmmm affinity twas an affinitive word so i dropped in to see what conditon my condition was in carry on sir fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 12:47 by ming : Sharing newslogs Well, sharing newslogs could be easier than sharing accounts, which I'm not sure is a good idea. Like, one could configure the newslog so that anybody can post to it. I haven't verified that recently, but that should be possible. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 17:57 by jmarc : sharing newslogs 'could be easier than sharing accounts, which I'm not sure is a good idea. Like, one could configure the newslog so that anybody can post to it. I haven't verified that recently, but that should be possible'----yes it's possible and has been verified. tim rowe was easily able to do so at mine which is open for posting by anyone. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:19 by scotty : Not the same thing jmarc ! posting a comment by the back door isn't the same as posting an article in the log ! did tim post an article in your log????????? fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:25 by jmarc : yes as you could too. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:26 by scotty : WOW ! now there's a thing !! ************************** ahah- yes I see - you've got a 'post an entry' button ! did you do that - or was it Tim ? fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:29 by jmarc : go to configure in your newslog click on "permissions" link at the top and check the appropriate box in "posting" fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:30 by jmarc : he posted the resonance fm article. see above to make a newslog open for posts. fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:30 by scotty : easy as falling off a rock eh ! thanks for the info jmarc - but I think I'll keep my log just for me ! hahaha hmm - why not write to blueboy and tell him ! fnord ***************************** where did the word fnord come from ?? I didn't write it ! I don't even know what it means !!!) 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:32 by jmarc : yeah the way its done this way, any joker can come in and edit anyone's comments. Maybe blueboy wants it this way. Maybe it's an experiment in chaos? fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 18:34 by scotty : Chaos ?? Here in NCN !!! naah - c'mon jmarc - we're all enlightened adults in here ! mwahahahahahaha fnord 2 Jun 2004 @ 19:07 by ming : Post an Entry I admit that that 'Post an Entry' link isn't very conspicuous. I should probably think of some more obvious ways of signaling that a newslog is open for posting, as that one often gets missed. 2 Jun 2004 @ 21:23 by swan : Fnord who? or What? full night of rigerous dancing? 3 Jun 2004 @ 03:14 by scotty : Who keeps on writing fnord ??? (funny nutty old randy dandy ! hahahah) 3 Jun 2004 @ 03:29 by dempstress : Sharing... ....is all very well, but to prevent anarchy isn't there the need for someone in charge? a sort of fnord Prefect? Or for transport purposes a fno r d .....(that's a Model T fnord)(except the layout doesn't survive the transfer to the comments list, thereby undermining the whole thing.....think I'll just crawl back under the duvet.)
