Xanadu 2012: New "New Orleans"!

The Point

Well the overwhelming point the seems to be emerging
then is that it is not "best" practice to build a community
20 feet below sea level. But that would almost seem common
sense but whats done is done. Perhaps resources might be better spent establishing a "new area" ie: New "New Orleans" in a more fortuitous place. Any ideas where their might be room in your country for such. Rather than the adopt a family program and taking these people into ones home, one might simply voluteer a spare car for these people to temporily call
home and set up this car city in an accessible and promising
place.

Now I realize it is not easy to leave ones home but
well no buts there are not many answers to the rentless
forces of nature.... Nature must be respected and to do
otherwise is to invite such folly.

One should therefore not throw good money after bad and
set up a proper place for these people to have and to hold.

I got one, bring back all the able bodied people they scatered across the country, put them in rubber suits and give them a 5 gallon bucket, we promote it as the "Million person bail-out", Im saying they get a bucket brigade of 100,000 or more, they could drain the city in a week easy. Feed them MRE's and get movvin. Of course there is the real problem of toxic chems, deffinetly not going to be good to drain that water out into the gulf, it's a extreemly toxic mix now, so I personaly would say good-by to a great city, rebuild the ports, but just leave the flooded areas a toxic wetland, eventualy the toxins will sink to the bottom or evaporate. Let nature take it's course in this case. But if the people really want to save the city, start bailing, I mean once the levies are pluged organize the "Million person bail-out" :}

Hmmmm I don't think even Walmart has a million
buckets but I suppose.... its a very practical
doable...

3 Sep 2005 @ 18:33 by bushman : They need
buckets, I got 20 or 30 of them and Im a gardener, just think all the painters, probably have stacks of them. Well, if they could build a pirimid way back when, I don't see how a bunch of people today couldnt bail-out the city manualy.
