| Xanadu 2012: Communicate What? |
Category: Articles 8 comments 15 Oct 2006 @ 20:43 by jmarc : Too much background noise?I don't know but being deaf in one ear, I find that if THERE IS TOO MUCH BACKGROUND NOISE or lots of meaninless YEESS my loves, or just plain jibber jabber, I cease to bother paying attention. I unfortunately find that I can usually predict who the comment will be from and what it will say alot of the times when I read these logs. And then there's just the fact that at times creative people cease being very creative for a spell, it's a high bar to live up to. You, like I am, may just find yourself reading the same things over and over followed by the same comments. That can get tedious. I once attempted to look "out there" for new blood to introduce to the place, but that didn't go very far. Plus any successes in doing that will eventually probably taste the same staleness we are tasting. Probably time for me to stop spending so much of my time here, I guess. Still, there are a few people here I still like to chitchat with. I know. Yadyadayada. It is like an echoe or a moot point... Nothing is achieved or really accomplished or discovered. No real or true knowledge gained just a lot of opinions but no facts or meaning of use or utility. Just a lot of senseless banter and sometimes abuse but occassionally a fun moment. The novelty is novel but somewhat shallow. Ah perhaps it is the lack of depth to this communication this very "public" communication or "cheap" communication. No depth not much worth, not much meaning or substance. and that is making you or giving you cause to question the value, or point or purpose of the time you spend on it. that the real worth is only occassional and almost accidental. yea I can relate. sir 15 Oct 2006 @ 21:19 by jmarc : yessss my love. lol. just kidding. to be more specific. When taliking politics, when stating facts, that someone in the opposing spectrum disagrees with, instead of examining the facts, often the messenger is attacked. Or the messenger is told that the person doesn't have time to look into these things, that they are unimportant anyway, and other quick dismissals. When refuting facts especially statistical ones which I have encountered, and do in fact have a bit of education in statistics btw, again one may find themselves attacked again and dismissed as a stooge or any other things. So anyway, serious political discussion is out basically. Maybe if you want to find others who think as you do and don't want to hear opposing view points, or to be critiqued, then you may find some satisfaction here. But for someone who reads something and says to themself, well, this is just plain wrong, they will find it far better to just ignore and move along to something else, as opposing opinions are basically dismissed or labeled as attacks. But of course Swanny, there are exceptions to this. You can find some folks here who can disagree whithout being disagreeable. And maybe that is why you and some others still stay. And of course everyone is entitled to a bad hair day, as was pointed out to me the other day.... and I'm sure things are the same everywhere on the interweb, as much as we would like to think that "our thing" is unique. 15 Oct 2006 @ 21:28 by jmarc : anyway there's a whole world out there internet excluded. This is where i spent my day. I'm tired, but refreshed. http://www.nhstateparks.org/ParksPages/Monadnock/Monadnock.html 15 Oct 2006 @ 21:31 by swanny : Reconiter So the facts are not taken as facts or are dismissed without understanding. or perhaps there are to many "contradicting" facts... So its always a "draw" of some sort. Lose lose instead of win win. Yes it is hard to know whats what in these "foggy" waters... but all is not lost... there is something here ... something hmmmmmm? but what....??? we have a band of merry souls and others and that is worth something but maybe we need to look or think differently somehow... What is it we have here... no not love but nice try... hee hee ah but ???? I don't know... It probably has never existed before... my research suggested that computers where not just "arithmetic devices" but with the development of the "net" they morphed into "communication devices" but upon thinkin on that shift I thought well hey theyre more than a device they seem to possess a rudimentary intelligence so that would make them...? Well that would make them at least a vegetable hee hee... we're communication via a network of "communication vegetables"... Im going to google that just for petes sake. When phones first came out they were all "party" lines although I think this is more than a high tech party line? Yes no and if so what then? A network of communication vegetables... whoa too much caffeine me thinks. sir 15 Oct 2006 @ 21:33 by swanny : The Park Looks inviting... Sadly its gray and raining and cold here and I've got the fire lit, drinkin coffee and listenin to classical music. 15 Oct 2006 @ 21:43 by jmarc : listening to jazz out of New Orleans here, and waiting for the advil to kick in. I hope I didin't sound too sour in what I wrote, I'm really not. More like resigned to certain futilities, but still over all, hey, I'm still here aren't I? I read somewhere that the older a person is, the less regular sites they visit on the net. Younger people are more varied in the surfing. So as we age, we get more set in our ways, no doubt. And there are few here in their 20's. 15 Oct 2006 @ 23:20 by swanny : Gossip 78 million sites for gossip on google sighs oh sad humanity swanny Other entries in Articles 23 Aug 2022 @ 09:55: Gravity battery ref 23 Aug 2022 @ 09:53: Gravity battery ???. 2 May 2022 @ 06:45: How to Get Quality Dofollow Backlinks 23 Nov 2021 @ 18:26: What is Linkbuilding 25 Jun 2021 @ 15:37: Longitude at sea? 24 Aug 2020 @ 12:42: Climate and ocean 24 Aug 2020 @ 12:37: Climate update Aug 2020 15 Mar 2020 @ 19:11: Hang in.. 29 Jul 2019 @ 16:12: Onward 28 Feb 2019 @ 14:41: Solar Neighborhood pic
