Tolkien The Wraith in the picture above is from the TV show, Stargate Atlantis. In that SF series, the Wraith is a predatory alien species which, much in the same vein as the more traditional wraiths seen in other fantasy media, are depicted to "feed" on the very essence of humans. The Wraith view themselves as vastly superior to humans and treat them similarly to how a human might treat cattle or livestock. Wraith: Unlike you, we don't need our food to agree with us. Lamb or wolf, there is no middle ground for the Wraith; you are either one of the Wraith or you are...food.
