Hmmmmm yet if we are outside of our humanity then what pray tell would we be? He seemed to feel at that point we would simply be what he called "Sentinent Beings' or more colloquielally "Watchful beings". Watchful beings ???? Watching what.... He spoke then of "seeing" yet not seeing or looking in the conventional sense but seeing in a manner that is available only to those with enough power to activate the capacity. To "see" as it were into the energy fields around us. Seeing thus watching the dance of these fields. I think though we are aware or see these fields but lack the connection to our consciousness. The art of the warrior thus was to bring this unconscious or subconscious skill or awareness to the conscious mind for the purpose of perhaps just simply being more fully aware of the true reality around us. Interesting..... then that our conscious mind has filtered out this seeing.... or that perhaps in was never brought to consciousness or perhaps we had it as a child and the controlled folly diverted our attention away from it.(The Continuum Book and The magical Child book and the Crack in the cosmic egg book. ah attention another attribute of Don juan who noted the first and second and third attentions as well. Interesting man interesting read. Attention and awareness. Watchful and aware and attentive beings. That is perhaps what lies beyound our humaness or maybe is a more realized form of it or what some have called "enlightenment". ed 7 Mar 2009 @ 21:14 by susannahbe : Awareness Awareness and consciousness. I think that we are all connected on a 'superconscious' and 'subconscious' level, we are all linked, all part of the same 'thing'. Just as we can't see ultra violet and infra red without special equipment, there are all the other things that can't be 'seen' using our purely physical senses. That is where an awareness of the energy of things comes in, as that is 'sensed' on a different level - no matter what my phsical senses tell me I always run it by my 'feelings,' my 'energy sensors', my intuition. Though I am sitting here in my human body I am very conscious of a link to something 'bigger,' that I have a 2 way connection with, I can reach out and access 'it' and 'it' can reach through me into material reality. Call it God/the universe/all that is - whatever it is, I 'know' that I am a part of it and it is a part of me, and although we usually only have access to the 'frequency' of everyday consciousness, there is a vastly different viewpoint when that 'frequency' can be altered/breached. Creative inspiration can do it, meditation can do it, drugs can do it, ritual can do it, all these can be elevators to different levels of consciousness, as can madness, psychosis, worry, and nightmares....the elevator goes both up and down! Phew, sorry for rambling on! I seem to be very talkative lately! :-) Anyway, a good post and great talking to you, thanks.
