Amount of energy all healthy human body require every year = 8.4 x 10 x 16 joules or maybe 3,060 × 10 x 16 joules ( @ 7 Billion People) so basically we're all using and consuming up 15.5 to 5700 times more energy than we require for all of our bodies basic health, no wonder obesity is the biggest healthy concern of the day. I suppose one could revise it to say the lowest person on the totem pole might be using 15 times more energy than they need and the highest would be 5200 times more than they need they should call us gluttons not humans. ed jonas 16 May 2010 @ 04:11 by swanny @70.65.31.24 : treatment plan 2010/05/15/sat/pm/ca/MDT/10:00 To me, as a citizen of this planet, the main thing and horrific tragedy about this gulf oil disaster event and spill, is that it is and involves learning lessons and having an event and scenario that we easily could have and should have planned against and avoided. Some counter and say there are accidents true, but then there's is sheer and willful stupidity, negligence, incompetence, blind disregard and criminal greed. It is ultimately and simply rather then a true indictment of the insane reality of our criminal dependence and addiction upon and to fossil fuels and cars and a dire warning to most if not all of what we will stoop to for such. In short it seems our addictive condition has sunk to criminal and insane proportions, A proposition and treatment plan then thus of the possible or probable austerity and green measures and or laws necessary for planetary coexistence, biocapacity and symbiosis: like a 10% carbon tax and $3.00 per liter gas and 10% of the seats in the House of Commons for the environment and a global cap on population at 7 billion people and a global cap on automobiles at 800 million and posting of green bonds of $1 billion for potentiality environ damage projects, climate instability insurance policies, ban of autos for those under 35, Subsidies and tax breaks to renewable energies and pubic transportation Tax breaks to green companies LEED and ISO 9000 14000 Standards Fines and imprisonment and restorative justice consequences for ecocrimes and torts Green Certification of Products and Services Bicycles and walking Green Buildings and houses Eco-villages and Eco-cites Urban Gardens Solar Greenhouses Freeze Corporate Taxes Have more Earth Hour Days perhaps a global referendum is in order on such ed jonas 16 May 2010 @ 18:36 by bushman : Ah, I see, it's ok to have a totalitarian gov, who practices eugenics, and locks you up for 5 years in a eco-gulag, over a gum wraper that fell out of your pocket, and considered a high felony to cook on a BBQ with anything but sunlight. But as long as its all green and clean, thats justification enough, to institute a green NWO. They will cut your foot off if you leave a foot print off the trail in the forest. And if you pick a berry in the forest that some animal will eat, that is stealing, so off with a hand. So does it really matter, how they control everyone? Seems to me the best thing we could do is just nuke the over populated places, places that are polluted beyond belief, this will keep smart people out for 50 years and let nature take over and get rid of multitudes of useless eatters. lol, a fasist is a fasist. And we all know mankind must remain prisoner, never to go beyond his animal being, we will still fight over food and water, even if 2/3s of us died off, and returned to the land as hunters and gathers, and an army of enforcment people who kill anyone who invents tech that leads us from the land, sound familiar? It may as well be hell we are in, where the human mind is trapped in enviormental bliss, never to follow its true calling. Back to a time in human history where they would burn you as a witch, for inventing a rubberband, I can here your collition now, "for the crime of inventing a device that would ultamatly destroy the planet, you are sentanced to burn at the stake, as well because you carry the demonic gene of intellegents, we must also exterminate any children you have had." Such a beautiful world it will be. 16 May 2010 @ 18:53 by swanny @70.65.31.24 : Masters Well perhaps bushman but I know my master and it is the grains and fruits and honey and milk and such that feed me and the waters I drink and the air I breathe and the ashes and dust and ground I will be when my day is done. but it is not a promise that I serve but a reason that I should serve such and thus do serve it with respect, dignity and honor. ed 16 May 2010 @ 21:13 by bushman : Well forcing people to do the right thing thru threat of harsh punishments, has never really worked anywhere for very long. I think people will evolve on thier own to do the right thing and still eventualy physicaly move out into the stars. As well we might find that to end up bad for earth in the far distant future, when those who have moved off into the stars, return and enslave the hunter gathers they left behind thousands of years before. As the Bible sort of says, "The meek and the martars, shall inherit the Earth" Corse it does also say, The angels who were banished from heaven, came to Earth and found great fun with Earths women, and apperently that turned out pretty bad, since your master ended up destroying his creation, only to save those things that messed up everything in the first place. Never mind the fact we dont even know what reality realy is, as one day we may find we are nothing more than a some microbe in a miniscuel puddle of muck, we just are what we are, doing what we do just like anything else does. We just cant see that our being exists in the micro, macro scale of time and space, we try to be what we think we are suposed to be, but no one has it right, because the creator dosnt know whats right or wrong, and just like us, the creator does what it does, no ryme or reason. If we want to live beyond our solar systems life span, then we are doing what has to be done to get there before it dies, or we die with it if we dont. And just what does that mean? That one day we live on for eternity in heaven, or does it mean we live on for eternity within the bounds of all aspects of our being? This would mean physicaly in bodies as well as spirtiualy. I mean assuming it dosnt just go black when your body dies, lights out your done, nothing more, oblivian and non-existance. lol 17 May 2010 @ 00:24 by swanny @70.65.31.24 : Alternatives True enough Laws and democracy are a bad system but it is the best one we've got. While some may "romanticize" the "law of the jungle, I would venture it while natural is not a more humane system and causes much suffering though perhaps allows for greater natural selection and fitness of species. Human Law and Democracy though while different is in a way juster and fairer to the less developed and.
