Category: Articles 2 comments 19 May 2010 @ 09:05 by susannahbe : WalkingI find walking good on all sorts of levels, just the feeling of actual motion, movement, going somewhere, I find to be psychologically helpful and motivating. It also has a meditational quality, one step in front of the other, again and again. Then there is the effect on your physiology, you breathe faster, you are in motion and it moves all that has become sluggish within, giving a new chemical response. Walking in towns and cities is stimulating because of the array of things you are exposed to as you pass, new sights, sounds, smells, all can be invigorating. ..and then of course walking in nature allows us to retune to that big broadcasting station and soak up those vibes, it always seems to put things into perspective. Ah walking, we were designed for it!
