29 Sep 2010 @ 12:00, by Unknown Sept 29 2010 Wednesday canada 5:50 AM MDT re: oil economy I suppose the question is how to best "transition" to a cleaner, greener technology or paradigm or environmentally friendly life style. Whether this is facilitated more aptly through war, political, governance, legal, social or economic means or something else such as a local grass roots community basis or movement. I suppose on a global scale it will perhaps involve elements of all such as it seems to have if we look at the lessons and examples of history. I see ideally though communities become more "self sufficient" and reliant and out sourcing only those resources, goods and services that fundamentally can not be produced or garnered locally and perhaps paying the appropriate though disproportionate higher costs of such, as well as governance being fostered more around ecozones or biomes than geopolitical borders. I believe as well the media and networks have a fundamental and responsible role to play as well in the transition asides from any profit aspect of such. ed Jonas
