we can test or prove the CO2 hypothesis or fact rather easily i suppose, by designing a sealed relatively scaled closed system habitat of the earth in a biosphere III, measure the temp over a year to get a yearly average and then gradually increase the CO2 from 280 ppm (pre industrial revolution level ) to the current (2014) 400 ppm and see if it increases the temp in a corresponding on the earths size scale ..also should test it with methane increase since that is the new threat....

since it might be hard to find anyplace on earth where the CO2 is still 280ppm you might have to accept the 400ppm as your baseline and increase it to say 700 ppm in the closed container , to get a similar scenario.
