A Splendid Congregation
A splendid congregation of cats
All whiskers and snowy spats
Did canter about the dark
Around tree and misty park
Eye’s a glowing midst the trees
Chasing the odd mouse; scratching fleas
Yowling melodies sonorous fair
Lounging about without a care
A gregarious calamitous hiss
A sight you won’t want to miss
When sauntering tails all aflared
With claws drawn and teeth bared
A dignified strolling parade
As into the dark they do fade
Once in masses alit and aground
Now not a meow to be found
