Picture made for me a few years ago by my son Benjamin.

Once Undiscovered

I awoke hearing the muttering
It had always been there
But for some reason
I was deaf to it


The muttering was a whirring of woe
Sighing and angst pooling
Into one big irritating rumble
I could hear it

I knew then that I was awake
Rummy-eyed from sleepiness,
Ignorance tapping my napping
Called self deception

I rub my stiff, aching body
Wiping my barely seeing eyes
Before, I thought I was alone
Now I feel abandoned

The subtle annoying grating hum
Subsides finally and I breathe
My eyes clear, a new vision
A new direction comes

I am found again into a new land
A once undiscovered dominion
I see others ascending forth
I was never alone

I was found, but now lost again
They all seem so intent, so exultant
Secretly, proudly enlightened
I wish they could hear me

Like a glittering fleck of mica
Shimmering in the flowing stream
A resonance touches my mind
I know that melody

So many to reach so far away
Friends, lovers, confidants, enemies
Scores, promises and dreams
I will find you

Hello Skookum,
It's nice that you finally got to see some meaning in the beautiful drawing by Benjamin.Did you ask him what message he was trying to convey?Is it just me or it does look a wee bit like the map of The United States!

yes Spirit.. that is what I saw too. I think he was into making maps back then. Jmarc.. yer such a nut lol

my son Benjamin is a brilliant boy

too smartarsed to go to regular school.. he is in a gifted program

charming and sweet.. with a touch of ego.. but then.. who can blame him?
