A Gem Along the Path

On this path of life
I can see stones along the way
Here and there, they lay
I pass them by, one by one
All of them are good stones
For the most part


I am grateful for each of them
They are teachers and friends
Some are foes or lovers
I remember them
They are valued in my life
Arriving when needed

Rare gems appear on the path
People of such value to me
That I am edified by them
I am brought to understanding
I am gently guided along
I am blessed

You may not know who you are
I might not have told you
Often it is too late
And opportunity passes
Let me not be too late this time
To tell you now
What a gem you are.

well.. jeff.. no matter how hard I try...there are a few stones that bruised my toes pretty badly and I have a hard time calling them good lol
