How Many Lifetimes?
Has it been a moment or a lifetime?
Maybe it has been many lifetimes
You and I, we and us, both and together
Never apart in spirit, forever touching
When I wandered the crowded paths
So many reaching for me, for my mind
In the murkiness I was lost for a time
Following one grasping hand then another
I was so tired of the game they played
So wishing to hide away, dampen my light
Shielding my light; I cannot be seen now
No one can find me, curled into the night
Part of me knew you were out there waiting
You knew I was here, I knew you were there
The secret dreamtime was our open meadow
And we like children ran through it laughing
Then I looked into your eyes again so close
I wept so o’ercome by those crystal memories
Knowing now our inseparable love really is
Feeling foolish that I ever doubted my spirit
No matter how many lifetimes we cross
There will be no power to restrain us you see
I know your heart; I know your gentle touch
Somehow, I know you will find me again
