A Beer is a Carib.
After the Great British Beer Festival in London, all the brewery presidents decided to go out for a beer.
The guy from Corona sits down and says "Hey SeƱor, I would like the world's best beer, a Corona."
The bartender dusts off a bottle from the shelf and gives it to him.
The guy from Budweiser says "I'd like the best beer in the world, give me 'The King of Beers', a Budweiser."
The bartender gives him one.
The guy from Coors says "I'd like the only beer made with Rocky Mountain spring water, give me a coors."
He gets it.
The guy from Carib sits down and says "Man give me a Coke yes."
The bartender is a little taken aback, but gives him what he ordered....
The other brewery presidents look over at him and ask "Why aren't you drinking a Carib?"
The Carib president replies "Well I figure if you all not drinking real beer, then I wouldn't either!"

Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival takes place every year on the 2 days prior to the start of the Lenten period (Ash Wednesday). Billed by some as "The greatest show on earth," it is an outpouring of creativity in music as well as masquerade costumes, it is a time when many peoples come together to dance, sing and make merry throughout the streets of Trinidad and Tobago, on these two days the streets of the major towns and cities belong to the masqueraders and musicians.
Trinidad & Tobago : Slangs and Language
Sayings & Folklore
Like many of the Caribbean islands and other places in the world, we too have our own unique "brand of English", it is all very similar in many ways except that many have said, the only thing we rush is our words, and that may be because we love to talk, and we want to say more .....
Interestingly one of the popular storytellers - Paul Keens Douglas, once said if you want to shut up a Trinidadian, then "tie he hands", we love to use our hands for expression. Some of our guests have seen people talking and were positive that they were having an argument and were going to come to blows, they were in fact good friends and just speaking normally.
Our Vocabulary includes many unique words and expressions, I have listed some below,
bachanal - midning another's business and adding to, thereby causing confusion
cook up - the act of throwin' somethings in a pot for the purpose of enhancing a 'lime', best down at the riverside !
commess Similar to 'bachanal'
liming - What trinis sometimes do best ! Closely resembles "Hanging Out"
mamaguay - to give one a false sense of compliments
goat mouth - to wish something happen to someone and it happens
