The Christmas Gift
Two years ago, I bought a tiny clock with the face and body of a rottweiler dog, this dog has the cutest smile ever, the hands of the clock was a shinny color red and it blend well with the dog..
I brought it home and had it to give away for a Christmas gift its something I always love to do, give kids around the neighborhood gifts every year. It so happen that all gifts was gone but this tiny clock was left alone, no home to go to as I have given all the kids I could have thought of their Christmas presents...
I took the clock and place it on the head of my bed, this clock stood there sealed in the box for over 2 years now the only thing that change in this clock was the box the color started fading away as time went by... Most time I will clean my bed head I will hold this box and open it and look at the clock and touch the dog and say " hope to fine you a home some day" I wanted to give it to a child as I know children are so humble and has such warm smiles on there cheeks All I wanted to do was give it to a child that will love this and treasure it the way I did.
Sometimes when am out to work physically, this clock flashes through my mind, and then the person that stood next to me at that time I just want to asked them if they have kids so I can give this cute clock away. Only now I think if I asked this question I may not be so happy with the person answer, I thought and thought it through my thoughts grow wild, I thought well these parents can buy their kids the best gift ever and what will they want with this tiny nothing of a clock, Oh well! it went away
Then a friend of mine paid me a visit last week on the 25th of October I did not see her for sometime she came with her talkative parrot who just love to excrete on her shoulder and sindy now have to go and get paper and watch all the cleaning being done hmmm
we sit and chat, she is a very inspirational lady I must say burning with knowledge and positive flame of light
suddenly this clock popped up in my healthy and all so fast brain of sindy's saying "give the lady this clock"
well then I thought she is a very humble being and has a child like energy so hey! why not, in the middle of the chat I said I am going for something will be right back, she said by the time you are gone I will write a poem about you I said that's a brilliant idea. I went to the room grabbed the clock, once more for the last time I opened the box and dish out the clock and kissed the tiny smiled on this dog face and pass my fingers saying "I think you will finally have a home", I then proceed with hope that what my deep thoughts pointed to me will be of that nature "that" the time has come where my mind will be put to rest over this clock
with the box in one hand and the clock on the other I came back to the living room and told my girlfriend I have something to give her, I told her its not much but I hope she will accept it, I showed it to her and she loved it she said, she loved dogs and its so cute and tiny and she was only happy to recieve it, because of what's more is not the clock she said its the thought, I took out a battery from one of my other clocks and demonstrate to show her that the clock works but I could not give her the battery, she said she will get one for it, so I tucked the clock in the box and give it to her, she had this warm smile and she said to me "sindy you are a very nice person you know" I told her its just a tiny clock but am sure you will get something bigger sometime again.
Only yesterday 3rd November she came to visit me once again and she brought me some huge juicy limes and other greeny stuff I was most thankful as I love garden products
we sat down I offered her juice and she looked into my eyes and said "sindy! I did something bad" I asked her what it was, she then told me in a sad look but a happy heart and a broad hidden smile that she gave my clock away to a little child, I told her it was her clock and not mine and she could have given it to who she wanted, She then explained to me why she gave it away
she said that day when she left my home she visited her step daughter and it so happen it was the child birthday and no one give her a gift and the child was sad, so my friend reached out to her bag and took out the box with this tiny clock and give the kid it, the child opened the box and had this tingling smile, the child told my friend she loved dogs
and she hugged her step mom and went to put the clock over her bed head..
Only this morning 4th November IT came to me that this was what I really wanted a place where this clock can be cherished and that it was loved in the heart of a sweet child.
This brought a tiny sweet joy tear to my eyes even now as I write this, to know that their is always something greater in our natural eyes and nothing happens in this life before its time..
Sindy's Note: The greatest gift in life is your love and care for others
even the things that you think is dead...
