Dear God, I beseech thee, what is thy will for my life? What do you want me to do?
Why are you asking God? Do you ask God what His will is for you when you're stuffing your face with your favourite food? Do you ask God what His will is for you when you're doing something you love? Do you ask God what His will is for you when you're having a nice cuddle with a friend? Do you ask God what His will is for you when you're having a nice soak in the bath?
If you're going to ask God what His will is for you, why not be consistent? Why not ask God what His will for you is in every single area of your life?
The problem is people see life in a compartmentalised way. They have created segments in their lives such as Social, Work, Leisure, Personal Development, Creativity, Health, Relationships, Finance, Home, Travel and Spiritual. You believe you are perfectly capable of taking care of all other areas of your life. Naturally, you don't need God's direction over what you're in charge of. God, your guides, your Higher Self, or whatever you believe in is in charge of your spiritual side only.
So God answers your prayer and leaves you to take care of your life. After you've made a pig's ear of the areas you believe you're responsible for, you turn to God in desperation. Hey, I've done it. It's hilarious! Just as well God, the God I believe in, is always there ready and willing to pick you up from the mess you've "co-created" with Him.
It is then you realise that life is not lived in segments. There is only one life and life is God. There is only one will and it is God. God's will for me is the one will for all areas of my life, and indeed all life.
So what is God's will for me? God wants me to be in joy, be happy, and in peace forever more.
