This Valentine's Day
has brought my thoughts to softer things...

The Breeze
The breeze ruffles your hair as we sit along the bank
I feel the warmth of your sigh and your arm against me
Cherry blossoms drift slowly down: fluttering
Like butterfly wings suddenly alive on their own
This moment, this very spot in time, is a timeless painting
Colors forever brushed against the canvas of life
Repeating generations against the tide of death
Welling into the pure springs of rebirth and rejoicing
Our eyes become one gaze into one greater being
Gazing into one immense existence that fades away
We are each other and ourselves over and over again
The scenes ever changing before our young/old souls
The passions in a pendulum of desire and denial
When we have surrendered and conquered in turns
The waters shimmer like wheat fields in the wind
While cherry blossoms drift slowly down: fluttering
