I recently went to a talk on a new personality typing paradigm called "psychogeometry". It reminded me of many other personality typing schemes that I had read about, but it had a different twist. This one recognized avant-garde explorers, and people in transition, as personality types in themselves. This was the first I had seen that actually seems to do this.... Read More

After doing a series of lectures on UFO encoutners at a SF convention this weekend, I was approached at different times by people, who described their own experiences. From these, I get a sense of many more experiencers than most of us think.

Hi All,
I just read this today, and it made my blood curdle. Read it and I think you will have the same response.
- "Night and Fog" editorial on unknowncountry.com
- Draft of Security Enhancement Act of 2003
- Article on bill
I'm open to comments here. What do you think?
This is some pretty dark stuff. If it's all true, then the storm is upon us?
Thanx,

An earlier newslog article makes the claim that the Columbia disaster might be the end of the US Space Program. But somehow I doubt it. I believe that space is our destiny. And I also believe that the USA will remain a part of that destiny. Whether it is alone or in partnership, we WILL continue. We will bear the risks, and we will learn the lessons of being on the leading edge of exploration. Read More

A couple of nights ago I saw an interesting documentary, aired on Discovery Channel. It was entitled "Jesus the Complete Story". The program had a very interesting take on the mission of Jeshua Ben Yusef (arguably the actual name of Jesus at that time). It looked at the context of the drama, including the politics of the time period, and described some very interesting themes.
One of the biggest themes was Jeshua's mission in the context of the resistance to Rome. He was looking for a way to resist Rome without violence. Many military messiahs had come and gone. Rebellions had occurred, and failed. For long-lasting freedom and reform to occur, the documentary stressed, was that it would not come by military might - Rome was too powerful. The only way that they would be free was to embrace a spiritual path, and nonviolent resistance.
I was struck by the similarity between the situation of that time, and the situation today. In fact, at times they verbally described the Roman occupation, but the visuals on the TV were of Israeli soldiers today, patrolling Jerusalem, the West Bank, etc. So today, while the players are different, the props are arranged differently on the screen, and the weapons have alot more power, the drama is essentially the same. It is a story of political tension, military occupation and resistance - constant rebellion, and simmering hatred.
The tides of history seem to be carrying us closer to war, yet deep within us, the still small voice of God tells us that the answer is seldom if ever force. The spirit is the answer - the only source of real peace.
Deep down, I wonder if this wasn't at least part of the real message of Jeshua Ben Yusef. A message of peace and freedom through nonviolence preached by this itinerant preacher and healer 2000 years ago. A message largely lost until Ghandi, made it succeed in our own times.
I wonder if heeding this message now is how we might achieve peace in the present day - a combination of spiritual enlightenment and nonviolent resistance to war. An interesting thought as we enter the (re-located) holiday celebrating His birth.
Namaste,

This afternoon, we went to see the Two Towers. What a spectacular movie. At the end of the movie Gwyn and I walked out of the theater in awe and a sense of mystical wonder. I also felt a deep overriding sense of destiny and apocalypse. I felt the idea of powerful invisible forces, opposed to eachother, deep within the foundation of our reality - a deep seated duality that afflicts our world.
One thing that I noticed immediately was how the movie seemed to fit into the endless chain of synchronicity that centered around the Twin Towers theme. As I wrote in several articles, both here and in the PSI room, this theme seems to be an all pervasive one. I can only think that there must be a deeper link, which the story only hints at, but which seems to thread its way through present reality. Read More

I finally saw the second Harry Potter movie tonight. It seems to have a wonderful emotional appeal to it. While the first movie was an excellent introduction to the series, the second movie does a great job of bringing out the deeper themes.
It seems to tickle an archetypal desire in the soul to do wizardry - to transcend the rationalistic constraints that seem to bind us to a material lifestyle. It's as if, deep in our memories, there remains the knowledge of how to do something just a little bit beyond - how to transcend just one little physical law.
Watching that movie was reminiscent having a dream where you could fly, or of having some form of extraordinary power. And when the dream is over, one is left with the feeling that if you wish it, if you do the right thing, and if your aim is pure, the gift could be within your grasp.
I've heard it said that prehistory is analogous to the subconscious of humanity. Most historical legends do seem to trace back to times before this cycle of written history - back into our civilization's collective subconscious. And so, perhaps buried deep within our collective soul, there is that little glimmer of the extraordinary, just waiting to be awakened again.
And I think that movies like the Harry Potter series, The Lord of the Rings, etc. take us, if only for a while, back to that wonderful realm where magic is the true way of the world. Read More

On the eve of the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States, there doesn't appear on the surface to be much to celebrate. We teeter on the brink of war. The environment seems to be lurching toward oblivion. We seem to be caught between one faction of the world that wants to terrorize us, and another that wants to tyranize us.
Yet even while the world seems to be going to Hell in a handbasket, there is still room for hope and thanks giving. Why? Because we are human. We care, we love, we think, we feel, and above all, we ARE.
At this time, when the material world seems to be at its bleakest, we need to realize that it is just that - the material world. And we are spirits living in the material world - warm little sparks of God, living in human bodies. And when things in the outside world get realy hosed, we still have this for comfort.
So when it seems like there isn't much to be thankful for on this day, we can remember that we are still able to form that or any other viewpoint. This means that we are conscious, spiritual beings with free will. And to me, that in itself is enough to be thankful for.
Namaste,

The evening of 9/11, as my wife and I sat in church, singing and praying - and shedding a tear or two, I heard one of the most moving messages yet. It was about the present moment, and about getting on with life.
Wednesday 9/11/02 was about the past - namely 9/11/01.
On 9/11/02, we took time out for one very moving, tribute filled day to honor the dead. Many of us stopped what we were doing and took a look at the world - as it was a year ago, and it is today, one year later.
Thursday 9/12/02 is about the present. The rest of us once again awake as we always have. We go to work, return home, pay bills, and continue on with the bussiness of life. And perhaps that's the best honor we can pay those who died, to continue on with the present moment.
Even as we remember and honor those who perished, life goes on...
Namaste,

For better or for worse, "The Changes" are upon us. I hear this everywhere - from people in all walks of life.
In my own life people are arriving and people are leaving. In the last few days, I've learned that several dear friends are moving on to other places and opportunities. I've also found new avenues for service and growth. The winds of change are blowing. And for better or for worse we are changing with them. Read More
